I know it doesn't seem that cold to you polar bears, but my metabolism is attuned to a tropical climate since I moved to Florida from the great white north. Nowadays I freeze in weather like this.
Orlando, FL: Hi 59 / Low 31
Davenport, FL: Hi 57 / Low 29

Tomorrow will be back to normal with a hi of 75 and low of 59. But even at 59 degrees Floridians are all bundled up in winter coats. I remember when 59 degrees in Michigan was a good day for outdoor sports or a visit to the park. If it had made 60 degrees, might even hit the beach.

My ex doesn't do cat pics, but she sent me picture of her cat last night. It was plastered in front of the heat register. Told me it was -45 below 0 where she was in Michigan. She had the heat cranked up and warmest it got was 55 in the house.

How many of you have the oven on, space heaters plugged in and fire places with a roaring fire to keep warm in the cold snap?

Yep, it's beyond nipply here in the northeast, now I remember why I hated living in PA. Home in NC it's not much better which is unusual for there. It was minus 6 at 9 this morning when I was heading out, it's a whopping 10 right now. The other day it went up to 21, a heatwave and that felt so damn good! I'd be in shorts if I had your 59 degree temp right now.

We should be up in the French Alps now but present circumstances have us here in the balmy UK. In France we have a bio-mass boiler that is auto fed on pellets. We also have underfloor heating so it gets pretty toasty.

Here in the UK we have a victorian wood burning stove that throws out so much heat we don't need the central heating on. I always have to sleep with the window open, no matter how cold and so our little dog has his own double quilt and a hot water bottle!

Boyfriend and I took bets about how days would be above freezing here, turns out we should have bet on above 0...because we've barely gone above that.

YES! I'm freezing in NC. A whopping 25 today. At least the weekend should be 45 and 55, before dropping back down again fro the week.

Yikes. Spring, where are you?

Where I'm at in Michigan, I think it reached -20 something with a daytime high of 2. I dunno, I don't pay much attention.
My internal temperature gauge only reads in muggy, not nipply, slightly nipply, nipply, HolyShatIFrozeMyNipplesOff. Guess which temp I'm at now.

We have a gas fireplace that has been running to supplement the heat. Not as great as a woodburning one, but it works.
An electric heater kept full blast for a few hours in our bedroom before bedtime to warm it up a little. Getting into bed with shockingly cold sheets = perma cold feet at night.

I may go jet boating on Monday, just to get out and burn the aging fuel in the tank. Its around 60 in the Nampa / Boise area. The cattle are grazing on green growing grass and the pets dont want to come in all day long

Personally I prefer a really cold winter with plenty of decent snow. Summer is for rock climbing and sailing, winter is for skiing and ice climbing... at least in my perfect world!

Geez... I cannot wait to get back home where the ten day forecast is partly cloudy am with 90% chance of showers followed by a 100% chance of nudity on the beach.

Jus sayin

Wednesday night I was out in a Missouri wilderness taking pictures of an old mill and stars. It was 3 below... a foot of snow...and the wind blowing 23 MPH... but the pics came out good... I'm nuts you know.
