So you don't feel we should have kept our eyes on the ball and hunted to ground Bin Laden and al queda ?

That the timing and necessity of Bush the younger going after Saddam was foolhardy at best unconscionable at worst ?

Or that the end game was about the worst conceived operation since Gallipoli ?

JVoV -> RE: Hillary's E-Mails (4/19/2015 5:59:25 PM)

I believe that AlQueda should have been hunted down as early as 1993, after the first WTC bombing.

I believe that President Clinton knew that war with Iraq was inevitable. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0f5u_0ytUs

when you weigh the logic and reasonableness of that position, especially given her track record, against the position of that this is all a "faux" news driven political witch hunt, you like to think that rational people will come down on the side of the former, regardless of their political persuasion.

to the extent there are so many that don't, is a sad testimony about the electorate and one reason, why Hillary is possibly, if not likely, still a contender.

Which doesn't answer the question at all....should we or should we not have stayed and finished the job in Afghanistan rather than pivoting to Iraq....at that time ?

Resources were diverted .Bin Laden was allowed to escape to Pakistan .....Al Queda survived.

New York Times: Clinton Cash 'Most Anticipated and Feared Book of a Presidential Cycle'

The New York Times reported Sunday evening that a forthcoming investigative bombshell book on Hillary and Bill Clinton will soon be the focus of major feature stories and is regarded as “the most anticipated and feared book of a presidential cycle.”

For weeks, news outlets from the Washington Post to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer have alluded that the highly-anticipated May 5 release of Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich by three-time New York Times bestselling investigative journalist Peter Schweizer could be a presidential game-changer. Schweizer is President of the non-partisan Government Accountability Institute (GAI) and a Senior Editor-at-Large at Breitbart News.

The New York Times revealed that Clinton Cash describes how the Clintons’ income from 2001 to 2012 was at least $136.5 million, how Mr. Clinton would routinely fetch half-a-million dollar honorariums for speeches while Mrs. Clinton was Secretary of State, and much more.

Despite the Clinton campaign’s ability to dismiss “critical books as conservative propaganda,” the Times says “Clinton Cash is potentially more unsettling, both because of its focused reporting and because major news organizations are expected to pursue the story lines found in the book.”

The Times adds, “Members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee have been briefed about the book’s findings.”

Kinda sorta stayed...... Bin Laden and co were more or less surrounded at Tora Bora. A Cia officer on the ground requested that the route to Pakistan be blocked off, it wasnt. OBL got away and the rest is history. Add to all of that the fact resources were fully focused on Iraq and AQ were able to regroup. I wont even get on the fact that going after AQ was legal and invading Iraq wasnt.
