Capitalism at it's finest indeed.

Say Socialists controlled everything as in Cuba or Venezuela...

Both forms of economic thought have their pluses and minuses. Frankly most economies around the global tend to use a combination of both of them with other school's of thought on the subject. Socialism, like Capitalism are not bad, if you know how to operate it. Also helps to define what you wish to do with it.

I would go to a back doctor and get treatment like most normal and sane people. There, it would be documented the full extent of injures and the process the doctor believes will best return me to some level of good health. Doesnt matter if I'm in a Socialist or Capitalist economy.

Where do you think the money would come from. Not even Capitalists have endless resources, and so of course costs have to be contained. But this isnt a problem caused solely by "evil employer greed" or "the evils of insurance". The NPR is a notoriously biased organization, very left leaning so much of the information in the article is tainted.

First....

When someone is injured on the job, they have to (unfortunately) prove the injury was caused on the job and not else where. The system that insurance companies use is draconian and uneven. In other words if a woman and man are injured in two separate places but with nearly the same injuries; are they handled the same way? Insurance companies have stated up one road and down the next, that there is no way to standardize how injuries are handled nor treated, so therefore one policy can be sharply different from another in costs. Yes, the Affordable Care Act showed how full of shit that system was a few years ago....

Second...

Its been found that those watching (or listening to on the radio) NPR are generally more informed on things than any other media source. They don't do the bullshit games. They keep the news separate from the opinion. It does come off rather dry at times, Compare that to any conservative media that gives you 'their conservative view' on the facts and evidence. They do play games to push their agenda. They dump opinion in with the news to the point one can not tell the two apart. Most of it comes off as pushing fear, hatred, and ignorance.

A member of the national guard patrols a supermarket in Caracas. Seems normal.

A little slice of leftist heaven

hmmmm.. looks almost like downtown Houston to me.. there are police that are always in groups of 2 or 3 hanging around downtown, i have seen them inside the dollar store, i have seen police patroling inside the library too (cant have those homeless people sleeping, they get tossed out if they are).. then there are the "Safety Officers" that wander around downtown.. I dont see much difference..except here they speak english... and quite frankly, here they look a lot more burly..

sure and i have seen walmart stores with very empty shelves too.. You dont really believe that the affluent in Caracus lines up, do you?

a police state is a police state.. and while most Americans (especially those that live in the better neighborhoods) want to pretend that is not what the US has turned into, they are just fooling themselves.. its not going to get any better either..
