slvemike4u -> First to throw his hat in the ring (3/23/2015 8:22:24 AM)

Ted Cruz made it official shortly after midnight Sunday evening/monday morning by twittering his intention to seek his parties(Republican Party or Tea party, not specified....lol) nomination for the lands highest office.

Being first in entitles him to being first out, doesn't it ?

Opinions....does anyone really think a Cruz presidency is a good idea or something worth working towards ?

Lastly,am I the only person that looks at Cruz and see's a physical resemblance to Tailgunner Joe...that wonderful Senator from days gone by from the great state of Minnisota IIRC.....Joe McCarthy

mnottertail -> RE: First to throw his hat in the ring (3/23/2015 8:26:46 AM)

He will be memed with Benedict Arnold. He is a violator of the Logan Act. Dead on Arrival.

slvemike4u -> RE: First to throw his hat in the ring (3/23/2015 8:36:41 AM)

Agreed...but it s news,dubious as his chances are....lol

Lucylastic -> RE: First to throw his hat in the ring (3/23/2015 9:27:50 AM)

why arent they complaining about him not being born in the US????
oh its different for them, hes got it sorted.....legally
or has he
The guy is a foreign policy idiot and as for NASA, he has less credibility than spongebob.
I like what jerry brown has said about cruz being completely unfit :)
Ive been thinking it, since he crawled out of the snake pit. Nothing Ive seen has made me see anything different.
He is nutty enough for the TP, their base will love him
If they can focus on anything but emailgate.

On facebook, there is a picture of Obama holding up a sign, saying Ok, Cruz lets see the birth certificate.

Probably photoshopped, but funny.

So no one is going to comment on the tailgunner Joe thing.
I swear to god the guy reminds me of him, visually to be clear.

DaNewAgeViking -> RE: First to throw his hat in the ring (3/23/2015 9:37:23 AM)

Self-annointed sumbitch, isn't he? What has this country come to if this clown isn't nothing more than the local barroom crackpot?

kdsub -> RE: First to throw his hat in the ring (3/23/2015 10:14:41 AM)

Oh I feel for my grand old party... why oh why can they not find someone to run that is not a radical ass. Believe me it will not take much to beat Hillary...but he is not much enough.

Butch

Ja, Hillary is no shoe in, but they are incapable of running an acceptable candidate.

I am Gobsmacked. No one could have seen that announcement coming.

I am not so sure that we rotate people like canned foods. Otherwise Hillary would be long gone ~ look how old she is!

So. . . I had to go pull up pics of both Ted and Joe and going off the bio pics on wiki, yes they do look alike. They both have that lip thing going on, although Joe had a helluva widow's peak.

As far as Ted's eligibility goes, he will probably have to go for a court ruling like John McCain on his citizenship. But I think the current consensus in legal opinion is that he is a "natural born citizen."

mnottertail -> RE: First to throw his hat in the ring (3/23/2015 11:51:24 AM)

Tailgunner was not from Minnesota, he was a Wisconsin cheesehead. LOL. As you well know, Mike.

bounty44 -> RE: First to throw his hat in the ring (3/23/2015 12:13:47 PM)

right now in the foursome of ted cruz, scott walker, bobby Jindal and rand paul, ted cruz is probably my favorite.

exactly how he is a "radical" is beyond me. god forbid we should have less taxes, small government, fiscal responsibility and attention to the constitution.

here is what the cato institute says about his eligibility:

mnottertail -> RE: First to throw his hat in the ring (3/23/2015 12:17:26 PM)

Yeah, that is what I understood Ted Cruz to indicate by his violation of the Logan act. He isn't much for constitutional stuff either.

Everyone is 'for' lower taxes, the question is somewhat ameliorated by the reality of whether or not that is fiscally responsible. A condition Cruz is wholly unaware of.

Perhaps if he is for 'small' government, he could begin the accomplishment of that laudable goal by removing himself from it, cuz he's assholes and elbows into it now, and has been.

servantforuse -> RE: First to throw his hat in the ring (3/23/2015 12:27:45 PM)

At least the Republican's will have a primary. The Democrat's on the other hand seem hell bent on supporting the old hag Hillary and all of the baggage she will bring along. Should be a fun election.

Huh. I would have said that the Democrats are in the process of throwing her under the bus.

joether -> RE: First to throw his hat in the ring (3/23/2015 1:03:17 PM)

Reasons not to vote Ted Cruz:

A ) Tea Party favorite
B ) Member of the Republican Party
C ) Wanted to shut down the US Government
D ) Violator of the Logan Act (aka should be charged)
E ) Bad fiscal responsibility policy
F ) Not very well educated
G ) Comes from Texas, were everyone running for President is an idiot
H ) He believes he has a clue what it means to be a US President
I ) He'll get us into a war with someone

servantforuse -> RE: First to throw his hat in the ring (3/23/2015 1:21:44 PM)

Do the democrats have a 'plan B'..?

When you have someone that can not only beat down every Republican/Tea Party contender hands down with a 10 point lead (as per the recent CNN poll), why not run her. The Republican clown car should provide amusement for a third straight election. Not to worry, we'll get to see it twice more, before Republicans have a serious chance at the White House.
