Lordy, DC, how do you put up with these right wing Christians and their never ending self-serving flatulence and still remain a Christian? You have way more staying power than I.

But Peon they tell us they don't hate homosexuals at all. They insist that they love homosexuals, that they "love the sinner but hate the sin".

Of course refusing to serve perceived or genuine homosexuals is hating the sinner because the discriminator hasn't the foggiest idea of what sins they may or may not have committed. When they discriminate, all they have to go on is the evidence in front of their eyes which normally wouldn't include a vision into what goes on in that person's bedroom. It's all about the sinner - it can't be anything else.

But, where sinners and/or sin is involved, it's best not to take chances isn't it? Nothing wrong with erring on the side of safety is there? Just a shame that perceived or genuine gays aren't granted the same margin of graceerror. That would be erring on the side of compassion. And that would be so unChristian ......

Talk about asswipe...

No one in this story, including the pizza owner, made any sort of judgement based on the way someone looked. Their decision was based on what they were told. But that doesn't fit the nice little narrative you've got going does it, tweak?

When I wrote that post, I didn't have this particular case in mind but was speaking generally about typical cases of discrimination, as ought to be clear from the text itself which doesn't refer to any one case - rather it speaks about discrimination generally.

It's your mistaken assumption that I had this particular case in mind. So the asswipe, as you so charmingly chose to term it, is all yours. Own it.

So, you are really arguing that all Christians are horrible, even criminal homophobes, because some of them do not want to be a part of same sex wedding ceremonies... While at the same time, when someone points out that Islamists stone homosexuals, you call that person an Islamaphobe

?

thompsonx -> RE: Indiania can now discriminant against anyone (4/9/2015 9:30:08 AM)

When have the "islamist" ever stoned anyone in amerika?
When has a christian murdered a gay in amerika?

What are you smoking? Your post (allegedly in response to my post) has nothing to do with the content of my post.

I said nothing about all Christians or Muslims. It ought to be obvious even to the wilfully blind such as yourself that my comments were directed against bigots hiding behind religion. Anything else is in your imagination.

What "typical cases" of Christians discriminating against homosexuals by refusing to serve them for no other reason than that they were homosexual would those be, specifically?

Memories Pizza reopens

A northern Indiana pizzeria that closed after its owner said his religious beliefs wouldn’t allow him to cater a gay wedding opened Thursday to a full house of friends, regulars and people wanting to show their support.

Mr. O'Connor closed the shop for eight days after comments by him and his daughter, Crystal, to a local television station supporting a new religious objections law... He said gays are welcome in his restaurant in the small, one-traffic-light town of Walkerton, 20 miles southwest of South Bend, but that he would decline to cater a same-sex wedding because it would conflict with his Christian beliefs.

“I’d do the same thing again. It’s my belief. It’s our belief. It’s what we grew up on,” he said. “I’m just sorry it comes to this because neither one of us dislike any of those people. I don’t hold any grudges.”

A gay woman who donated $20 to Memories Pizza in Walkerton, Indiana, is speaking out about her decision to take a stand in support of all Americans’ right to live their lives according to their beliefs... “The gay community that we know knows full well what it’s like to be condemned for doing nothing but living your life according to your beliefs,” she added. “We know so many gay individuals that fully support the freedom of living your life according to your beliefs and feel that freedom extends to everyone, even the people that we don’t agree with.” ~Source

She asserted that “there is a difference between operating in a public market space and then attaching the name of your business to a private event,” acknowledging that she would turn down a request to organize an anti-gay marriage rally. While speaking to radio host Jeff Adams, Hoffman shared her view that the gay community should be especially attuned to discrimination and disavowed those who try to silence anyone with whom they disagree. ~Source

I wonder if the folks who wrote those would be viewed by some on the left as some sort of gay equivalent of the "uncle tom" moniker given to blacks who are conservative? or as the role models they are?

I have never fully understood the "Uncle Tom," insult as he was a rather noble character in the book. Ah well.

I am sure that they will be castigated for wrongthought by the SJW, as well as for eating wrongpizza. *sigh*

No..Only as the role models they are. People as they should be according to "christianity". ....so put that in your pipe and smoke it

I wonder which one of you has donated money, or words like this woman did, supporting someone who wants to actively deny you civil legal rights.

I had someone cmail me a long time ago and tell me I shouldn't be allowed to be gay because I said I was conservative. Not sure how he thought that one would be regulated.

Apparently, she didn't see it as "offensively" as you and others did, Lucy. Nor believe as you and others that it IS a violation of her civil rights. As a matter of fact, she was "outraged at the level of hate and intolerance" directed at the pizza shop owner and others for simply standing up for their beliefs. It was for that reason that she donated. And made note of the fact that she wouldn't organize an "anti-gay" rally as that would go against HER beliefs. I have donated money to my cousin in her groups push to get gay marriage recognized in Minnesota but that's that's in support of her beliefs. If her group was pushing for something that violated my rights, I would not.

But you go ahead and twist her post to mean what you want it to mean.

1) If it wasn’t intended to offend you, then you shouldn’t be offended.

2) You do not get to decide someone else’s intentions. They do.

3) Being offended is a choice you make. Nobody is responsible for that choice but you.

4) Even if the slight was intended and deliberate, functioning adults understand that they must move on and not dwell over every sideways glance or rude comment.

5) You have to stop doing the trendy internet thing where you write something on a piece of paper and take a picture of yourself holding it up while frowning. It’s just annoying at this point.

Lucylastic -> RE: Indiania can now discriminant against anyone (4/10/2015 2:54:49 PM)

Read what i said again because i am not offended in anyway by her, because she rose above the crowd of haters that are and have been offended.
you should be using your rules on yourself because you are offended by something you read the wrong way.
Stop being offended dood.
you look really unsmart

Oh, I read it right...she rose above the crowd who displayed hatred and intolerance...her words... to the pizzaria owner.

Now then...if you're one of those who displayed hatred and intolerance of the pizzeria owners' beliefs, I'd say you were one of the offended.

Lucylastic -> RE: Indiania can now discriminant against anyone (4/10/2015 4:02:06 PM)

again, you obviously should be using your rules more diligently.
