ORIGINAL: Lucylastic I read this last night and thought I would share quote:
It's certainly touching how the $20 lady has suddenly become the Voice of Truth. Pity there wasn't similar interest in the LGBT perspective on what it might be like to be told, "We're sorry we can't cater your wedding, but your effort to solemnize the love of your life is morally repugnant to me." Or even about whether we experience our orientation as a "lifestyle choice." While not a "gay lifestyle," I have gotten the shock, horror, OMG! that is horrid!, and so forth about being poly and actually expressing my desire for a poly family. I will say that it has never been as bad as the outrage and lecturing I have received from vegans about my desire to raise chickens and rabbits as food animals, not pets. I have had many more "that is morally repugnant" comments and reactions to animals as food than I have to, "Ya know, it is gonna be weeks before I can have sex again, my companion really needs to find a girlfriend." My point being that someone declaring your lifestyle morally repugnant seems to vary from person to person. I really do not give it much credence. that reminds me, I owe you an email. and no, poly is nothing like the "gay" experience its a choice.
