It was over 30 years ago and ive regretted it ever since, oh and paid for my sin more than a few times.

Really? You've died and roasted in hell for an eternity since then? If not, full payment has not yet been made. ;-)

again, you obviously should be using your rules more diligently.
) If it wasn’t intended to offend you, then you shouldn’t be offended.

2) You do not get to decide someone else’s intentions. They do.

3) Being offended is a choice you make. Nobody is responsible for that choice but you.

4) Even if the slight was intended and deliberate, functioning adults understand that they must move on and not dwell over every sideways glance or rude comment.

5) You have to stop doing the trendy internet thing where you write something on a piece of paper and take a picture of yourself holding it up while frowning. It’s just annoying at this point.

oh And your reading comprehension.

Good to see that not only does he write his own rules, but he hasnt got a clue wtf they mean. [;)] Anyhow he lost my vote when he came up with the notion he was a functioning adult.

Anyone fancy debating another case of homophobic religious bigots in action ? This time it is the Vatican.

Sorry for using a left wing rag as a source Bounty.

Lucylastic -> RE: Indiania can now discriminant against anyone (4/10/2015 5:01:56 PM)

Oh I mentioned a whole slew of bigotry
quote:

Yanno like Rush limbaugh equating gay marriage with bestiality
Or the cardinal that stated gays and divorced people gettin married "Just As Sinful As Murderers"
Senator Cotton who stated today that Gays should be happy they dont live in Iran.
Oh and in Madison, Wisconsin, discriminating against atheists is not allowed now either
Bill O'Reilly Tries To Link Opponents Of Indiana's Anti-LGBT Law To Terrorists Targeting Christians In Kenya oh and the totalitarian left are out of control, now its a civil war.

Strangely enough, it wasnt responded to.

Well, damn. I'd become rather fond of this pope.

In fairness to him, the refusal likely stems far more from institutional concern over appearances than personal antipathy from Francis.

I agree with you

We Americans and Europeans forget that the part of the Catholic Church that's really growing is in more traditional parts of the world.

you might want to check your reading comprehension, PS...those aren't my rules.

As for being a functioning adult? Yeah, that would be what happens when I work every day except Sunday and pay taxes without crying to the government about every little slight I endure in the course of life.

As for commentary conveniently ignored, Lucy...let's mention the fact that you totally skipped over who the gay lady felt were the haters and the intolerant ones.

Lucylastic -> RE: Indiania can now discriminant against anyone (4/10/2015 7:24:36 PM)

She is entitled to her opinion.
I didnt comment on it because I said all I had to say on the matter by not thinking she was OR calling her an "uncle tom"
yet still im being accused of it.
sod off.

JVoV -> RE: Indiania can now discriminant against anyone (4/11/2015 2:28:29 AM)

To take a firm stand against violence and threats of violence in no way shows less support for the cause of civil rights.

quote:

Nonviolence is the answer
to the crucial political and moral questions of our time:
the need for man to overcome oppression and violence
without resorting to oppression and violence.
Man must evolve for all human conflict
a method which rejects revenge, aggression and retaliation.
The foundation of such a method is love.

I read this last night and thought I would share

quote:

It's certainly touching how the $20 lady has suddenly become the Voice of Truth.

Pity there wasn't similar interest in the LGBT perspective on what it might be like to be told, "We're sorry we can't cater your wedding, but your effort to solemnize the love of your life is morally repugnant to me." Or even about whether we experience our orientation as a "lifestyle choice."

JVoV -> RE: Indiania can now discriminant against anyone (4/11/2015 3:27:51 AM)

That's what I was responding to.

Lucylastic -> RE: Indiania can now discriminant against anyone (4/11/2015 3:31:17 AM)

Sorry JVOV I was making a very early post, for me, I didnt mean to post to you:) it was a general response:)

While not a "gay lifestyle," I have gotten the shock, horror, OMG! that is horrid!, and so forth about being poly and actually expressing my desire for a poly family. I will say that it has never been as bad as the outrage and lecturing I have received from vegans about my desire to raise chickens and rabbits as food animals, not pets.

I have had many more "that is morally repugnant" comments and reactions to animals as food than I have to, "Ya know, it is gonna be weeks before I can have sex again, my companion really needs to find a girlfriend."

My point being that someone declaring your lifestyle morally repugnant seems to vary from person to person. I really do not give it much credence.

Oh, I don't know...I'd say their perspective was heard above all else...at least from a group standing. Of course, it was just one gay lady who offered $ 20.00 and her friends who were appalled at the hate and intolerance shown by some of the protestors. Right?
