Yes, that's a good price.

Electrolysis is a painful method of hair removal, and very time-consuming. I've had both that and laser, and chose laser for overall removal, and would continue to do so, except, perhaps on facial hair.

That's more like an amazing price. I use my no! no! and that works pretty good but still, wow $99. It used to cost thousands.

It would be perfect for that. Check on blackout times, if there are any. Read the small print.

Yes, a very good price. In fact, much too good to be legit. I'd be wary.

What's the deal with this "NO NO Plus"? Isn't that an option?

Check the competence level of the business offering the service.

If not done properly, permanent discoloration of the skin can result. A lady friend of Italian heritage has some scarring that looks like a bit of black pepper on her upper lip from some badly done electrolysis.

The process is using an electric shock from a sharp needle to burn out the hair root after all. Too deep leaves scarring.

For some reason your phrasing brought to mind a fellow I served with in Hawaii. He fell in love and married a Samoan girl and agreed to a traditional Samoan wedding... without finding out what that entailed.

The five day ceremony included tattooing by the traditional Polynesian method... sharp bamboo and a small hammer to force the ink below the skin. The first time in the showers on the ship, his tattoos from waist to knee drew a hell of a lot of attention. He used the phrase "it hurt but my wife's distractions were soooo good"

My mother had it done and got 3 sessions for 100 but it didn't work... apparently even her hair is too light and thin which I find odd since hers is dark brown.... I'm one of those lucky weird people that only gets little fluffy blonde hairs so is don't even have to shave my legs, though my mom didn't get hair until she had me.... I gave my mom a moustache.

What kind of electrolysis is it and will they let you speak to previous clients? That price screams "too good to be true" to me.

Three sessions - three short sessions - for $100 is about the cost. (Around here, anyway.) So unlimited for $99 is...impossible.

Electrolysis won't work in three sessions. Did she wind up going for longer or did she just take the three sessions? It can take months to years for one area, dependent on the location on the body. It's quite a commitment. :) And because it does take longer than people expect it to (I know when I first started, I thought it would be immediate, as well), people get frustrated and give up. As I have a few times, myself.

I've been thinking about this thread (since I just went for my own appointment yesterday) and I feel obligated to stress that yes, as Stef says, this really does seem too good to be true. Please be safe. $99 unlimited for a year - why are they offering this deal? Do a cost comparison. What are other places charging? There must be some sort of board certification of these professionals. Does this person have proper credentials? Also, something to think about - I've found that several places will offer a free 15 minute trial and definitely a free consultation. Maybe go to a few other places, ask for a free consultation (either with or without the actual service) and pick their brains about the process and the cost and the time it will take. Then make a decision as to whether this $99 offer makes sense to you.

Maybe it will. Maybe it's fine. But it doesn't sound fine.

~FR~

I bet very few people take more than a couple of sessions before they let it lapse... the same way buffets make money.

Maybe that's why they can offer this deal, then? The number of people who plunk down $99 upfront maybe will be much more than the number of people who actually follow through on the service.

Still dodgy. Even more so, then, if this is their tactic instead of providing a reliable service and being paid accordingly for it.

(Maybe I'm just drinking my coffee this morning served with a heaping side of skepticism.)

Agreed with you both. Exactly what happened to me while I lived in Miami. They lock you into a contract but I paid almost $2000 for the service though. The upfront cost is entirely nonrefundable and there's also a lot of horror stories about it online. I'd say the no-no is the easier alternative. My skin is sensitive to razors so I love electrolosis.
