And I've forgotten what it is?

What do you call the period of depression when a sub and a dom separate.

I know there is a word for it but it escapes me and I have little time to find out. I need to know for a friend.

A specific word doesn't immediately come to mind, but I often wonder about the failure of Dominants or Masters to prepare their sub for a transition to normal autonomy.

This is more of an issues for slaves than subs, but when someone's entire sense of autonomy is redirected toward another individual, I believe that in the event of a separation it's incumbent upon that individual to attempt to transition them back toward full autonomy and self-determination.

This may not always be possible, especially if there's deep emotional entanglement, but it does strike me as something that is often poorly addressed.

After a breakup, some depression is natural. I don't know of any D/s specific term or concept.

It's very devastating for some no matter which side of collar. I agree there should be a transition period back to autonomy or he's irresponsible and undeserving of being a Dominant. That is unless there is some sort of emergency situation (a real one) preventing it.
