Simply discuss something other than sex and your kink in messages. (There's a rather low bar on the other side. )

Sadly, you've come to the wrong place to learn about intellectual discourse. About all we get in the Boards is a lot of whining and name-calling.

But as the 1st reply stated, intellectual discourse means talking about something other than sex and your particular kink. Although it certainly could include those... Having a discussion about something other than American Idol, Kim Kardashian, or your favorite sports team can be very satisfying. Maybe not in a sexual way, unless that's your kink.

thank you very much Dave.
I will take this into regard, I am very interested in this type of service to a Domme, so i wanted to get some education about it first.

. . . I am very interested in this type of service to a Domme, so i wanted to get some education about it first.

How do I say this? Intellectual Discourse is not a service that is provided to a Domme in a D/s or BDSM capacity, meaning that it's no different than what a 'nilla lady might desire in a companion.

In other words, it's an individual choice, and there is no standard education or training apart from life experience and your own intellectual pursuits, along with conversational skills you've acquired.

It all depends upon the person and having common interests of a more cerebral nature that you both enjoy discussing at length, or issues which don't revolve around your own subjective (egocentric and cock-centric) universe.

Like MissToYouRedux noted, the bar is set quite low on the other (profile) side. Just acting like you're not a sex-crazed maniac, kink or fetish fiend should do the trick.

What I'm curious to know is why you have "sub" in your screen name since you joined nearly 9 years ago, claim to have 7 years' lifestyle experience David, sound here as if you are a male sub seeking a Domme, yet list yourself as a male Dom who is Actively Seeking FemDom and MaleDom couples?

Btw, what happened to your pet "kitten"? The one you wanted to arrange a gangbang for with two guys 4 years ago?

Based on your Interests list, you have plenty of vanilla interests. You already have more than enough Curious Abouts listed, but "Intellectual Discourse" should go there. (I would remove a few items first, as well as under your crowded Likes, before adding anything else.) Your BDSM type activities are mostly bottoming, particularly going by what you say you Live For. Other than having Female Supremacy as a Likes, your profile appears to be sending mixed messages and wouldn't hold a strong appeal for a Dominant woman to have to sort this all out.

If you are both sub and Dom, then you might want to consider changing your orientation to switch, to avoid confusion. Just saying.

David, if you want to serve a Domme, why does your profile list you as a dominant?

Given the grammar in this sentence, my instinct is to say "Don't worry, this isn't something you'd get a lot out of"; I shan't, though, as that would be unkind.

As others have said, when people list intellectual discourse as something they like, they're signalling the that that they are looking for a partner who, as well as ticking all the kinkeh boxes, can hold an actual conversation.

That said, I do know a someone who really does get horny when having an intellectually stimulating conversation. I reckon that her response is more one of relief at encountering someone who can say something more thoughtful than "what are you wearing, slut?" but she insists that there's something glorious and endorphin provoking about a conversation that becomes "brain jazz".

I really hope this is a joke... It's not listed under BDSM for a reason... It's just talking (discoursing) about smarty (intellectual) topics. If you ever discussed the finer points of Zeno's Paradoxes or bantered over the significance of Hawking Radiation or had a dialectic over domestic spying, then you've intellectually discoursed.

I belong to another website that asked me how highly I rated intellectual discourse. As a few people have said; it doesn't have to be a discussion about quantum physics (although it could be). It could be (to some people) an in-depth discussion about the designated hitter rule.

I absolutely consider myself a sapiophile; more so than a sapiosexual. Intellectual discourse doesn't necessarily get me hot but it certainly keeps my mind from wondering, during discussions. There's nothing worse (to me) than being on a date with a lady and listening to her talk about eye shade colors or Joan and David boots in a very vapid way and realizing that the person across the table from me has all the intelligence of a turnip.

A person like that can be aesthetically hotter than the hinges on the gates of hell and that might be great for a night or a week or a month or two, but for the long-term goal that I seek, a lady has to be able to make me think.

As far as serving a dominant in this way, it's pretty simple: where does that particular dominant place the importance of intellect and the ability to express thoughts?

Michael

You should, of course, learn from your intellectual superiors; although I've found their nose hairs to be quite distracting. Bring tweezers. Their tears of joy that fall when you pluck the errant strands is quite touching.

My quick guide:

1. Buy the Oxford English dictionary. Read the entire thing.

2. Read the Internet, all of it, missing nothing.

3. After doing number 1 and 2, find someone to talk to and share what you learned.

Hope this helps.

Buy the daily newspaper. Read it. Every single day.

Read the ed op page. Read the arts section as well as the news and business. Become a well rounded human being.

But by newspaper I exclude tabloids. The NY Times counts, the Daily News does not.
