I used to carry a .45 automatic in my hip pocket, only problem I ever had with it was that I had to carry a empty wallet in that pocket for when I sat down.

lol lol lol lol lol lol I would pay a nickle to see anyone use their hip pocket to carry a 8.5" long pistol

And I'd like to have a nickle for every gun idiot on here.

So you are fine with folks bringing their firearms to church ?

Lets disregard that bringing forearms to church actually was the first step in all of those links.

Mine was a Ruger P90 with my pockets the barrel just touched the bottom of the pocket with the trigger just concealed, I would wear a long enough shirt to cover up the exposed grip.

Ps the P90 was not any 8.5 inches.

And each would provide me with a reason to do just that.

My nephew used to hang around with this kid,so my sister invites the parents around for burgers one fine summer day.
Daddy shows up with a pistol on his hip.
I ask him what about an invitation to a barbecue made him feel he needed a gun on his hip.....
His response was"I don't go anywhere without it"....I told him if he wanted a burger in my backyard he would need to bend that rule.
Needless to say that was his last visit to my house.
I felt sorry for the man, living life so damm afraid that he can't run to the store without his "protection"....bad enough to need to remember your wallet when running to the store.
What a sad pathetic way to live one's life.

Every time some asshole walks into a church or a cafeteria or whatever and starts shooting, the first thing people do is scramble for safety and call for some guys with guns to come stop the son of a bitch. From this we can conclude that a reasonable person might detect an advantage in having a guy with a gun already there.

Sounds like the moron was so clueless he didn't realise that all he was achieving was advertising his own inadequacies.

Years ago, when I used to carry a weapon for a living, there was a slaughter at a Texas church.

My priest came to me and asked me if I ever brought my weapon to church. I told him that I rarely did but that if I knew I had to go to work shortly after Mass, I usually had it in the glove compartment of my car (locked in there). I said I didn't think it was right or allowed to bring it into the church.

He said: "In view of what just happened in Texas, start bringing it in with you, please?"

So therein lies the rub,the only answer to some asshole with a gun is more guns....which leads to more assholes with guns.

You don't see the issue there ?

Yep, it is better to hope they shoot someone else than to fight back.
Just because they have a gun doesn't make them a asshole.
In the example you gave earlier I would have simply put my gun in the car and left it there any time I came to your house.
Though from your discritin of the incident it sounds like you were being an asshole.

Actually, the only answer to (murdering) assholes with guns is GOOD people with guns ie; more guns in the right hands.

Sure I see the issue. I'm talking to a fact-challenged gun bigot. Just for shits and giggles, why don't you see if you can back up your claim that more guns leads to more assholes with guns? I think you'll find the experience salutary. The number of people legally carrying firearms in the United States has been going up for a quarter of a century, during which time the country's homicide rate has fallen ≈50 percent.

Alternatively, you could find another hobby.

And I'd like to have a nickle for every gun idiot on here.

I remain unconvinced that owning a small collection of firearms (less than 100) constitutes being a "gun nut". Now at a nickle a head I am not sure either of us could make a happy meal out of what we might collect.

Fr. Larry, the slain pastor, had earlier served at my parents' parish. I'd been to masses he celebrated but didn't really know him.

As you can imagine, folks were shattered by the killing.

Welcome to modern day Christian churches....

Yeah really. You'd think they'd know better than to hold their shooting contests inside the Church. It only takes one person to get the schedule mixed up, and look what can happen.

Many churches have individuals whom are carrying firearms now. For a variety of reasons, and not all of them good or legal. I dont see why this issue is up on the forum. The person carrying the firearm had an accident. I hope they heal from the wound in a speedy manner. And maybe reconsider carrying such arms in the future when in a church.

How does one carry a gun in a pocket anyway? I thought they were much too heavy to do that for any real length of time.

There you go...I ask someone not to wear a gun into my house.....and you read it as I was being an asshole.
Please explain to me why I should care about the opinion of an obvious idiot ?
