Lengthy sentences were handed down in the Blackwater guards case stemming from the atrocities commited in Nisour square on sept 16,2007. The trial had a long and winding road....but in the end some measure of American Justice was finally handed down over this black mark in American History. Just maybe we have realized that out-sourcing war is a very ,very bad idea.....hard enough to keep trained Army units on the necessary leash when dealing with urban environments chock full of civilians.Adding scores of highly paid private contractors to the mix is a recipe for disaster as this incidence reveals. Mr .Slatten a former Army sniper ,who witnesses testified started the melee with a precision shot through the head of a young man recieved a life sentence....three other guards received thirty year terms. The court room was packed with friends and family of the prisoners,many wearing Blackwater tee shirts. Not so many members of the victims families attended.....distance being an issue [8\|]

It is nice to see justice done for a change. I'm sure these sentences will be some consolation to the families of these 'contractor's' victims. Kudos to the US and all responsible for justice being handed down.

The process won't have been completed till than,it's a certainty that all of these verdicts and their sentences will be appealed all the way down the line. Unfortunately ,as the packed courtroom of supporters demonstrate,there is a large contingent who feel these men are nothing more than scapegoats....and should not have even been charged,much less found guilty and sent away for considerable sentences. After all is said and done what is being measured in the American justice system is the value of Iraqi lives measured against the freedom of ex soldiers. It will be years before finality is reached.

Nope,once again sanity is wrong. Hillary was never CEO of Blackwater. So is this a glimpse of the future,every thread will be pulled,by sanity and cohorts,to Hillary,Hillary,Hillary. For Christs sake Sanity 19 more months,can you possibly do this,can you be Hillarycentric for 19 long long months ,while retaining your....er,sanity ?
