As I'm blatantly guilty of using cleavage shots, I can only assume they post them for similar reasons. As for me, I don't care to post my face for privacy reasons. When I share it publicly I can't regulate who sees it, or for how long, or what they do with it. The idea makes me uncomfortable, being watched by someone that I can't see. Yet, the picture you upload is typically expected to have you in it. So I go for the next best feature. As I've had issues photographing my own bare brain in the past, I often opt for boobs, bum. Occasionally feet or lips. Not my vagina, but that is because it's not as visually impressive to me as the rest of my physical attributes. If I was confident that my vaginally was stunning it might be different, but I am quite a tease and think it's more erotic to leave them wanting to see more... Rather than turning away, knowing they've seen all there was to see. I suppose I view the "about me" section an opportunity to show a bit of my character, and the profile picture an opportunity to show a bit of my looks.
On top of that, let's not forget plenty of males are here to find a No Strings fling, in which case it really is one of the main features. I'm not saying they have to be well endowed or anything of the sort. We just all have preferences on what we find most attractive, differing from big to small in all shapes and shades. But if you are looking for sex only, it's pretty important to establish a mutual physical attraction. I think I might be different from other women in this respect but I cannot and will not agree to a casual play date if I can't see what I'm signing up for. Sometimes those profile pictures make the search a lot easier as you don't spend time "getting to know each other" to then find out upon arrival that for whatever reason their piece is not appealing to you. And at that point it will be a lot harder to reject someone, as you've already gotten so friendly.
Don't get me wrong, a bad attitude is a deal breaker all the same. If a man has a gorgeous cock but a foul personality, I will happily pass. However... For those looking for a more casual encounter, rather than an emotional bond, the penis can be a deal breaker too. At the end of the day, you can't fuck a personality. No matter how lovely it is.
