Thousands sounds like a lot, but I don't think people realize how easy it is to burn a few hundred rounds if you're out shooting. The stuff goes fast, and it ain't cheap.

I don't know these Phd friends of yours are but I've had a lady with a Phd in chemistry talk my ear off about the roswell alien coverup, so maybe you aren't misunderstanding them. I suppose they could be nutters, it does happen sometimes

Because rejecting science on account of paranoid delusions of nefarious agency is many things but reasonable is so not one of them.
