Wow, again, you're presuming that I think about the perpetually aggrieved. However, I have noticed you do seem to have the problem, a lot, where you believe people are not understanding what you are saying. Since we know it's not because you are just way to bright, maybe you should work on your writing skills. Or, does this cross over into the rest of your life? Is that why you're always so cranky? Because...just nobody understands you.

Reading the syllabus doesn't make the requirement clear, however I think there is something even more disturbing:

Certainly sounds like a requirement to engage in self-mutilation to me. Back on track, the last syllabus was a lot more explicit in the expectations. From earlier in the year (dates are Feb-2015 to Mar-2015)

Interesting in that the last syllabus states explicitly that physical nudity is not a requirement. I am willing to wager that it isn't a requirement this time either and this is simply sensationalism stemming from either an accidental or willful misinterpretation of the requirements.

Yes...I did. If you go back to my post with the cites, one of the cites notes that this class is a pre-requisite.

To be quite honest, I would personally have problems more with the other *gesture* that Carpe coma mentioned, the self cutting, and ...I want to learn how to cut...yet cant bring myself to learn on myself!
I know several cutters, I understand their rationale, but its a personal squick, and has been for years, not quite a conundrum, but meh its a weirdity of mine.

I meant the class was not required to have the degree, it's written in the article you linked in the OP, the girl could have taken another class if she wanted, I suppose or she was distracted or the real problem was her mother found it out.

Not going back and reading the article again, I seem to remember it was a prerequisite to a class required for the degree.

I am assuming thats all consensual public nudity, rather than forced

This is a Visual Performance Arts class, so someone who took this class could use it to get a degree that allows them to perform on stage in musicals and plays on Broadway. It is NOT unusual for an actor or actress to perform nude on stage. Hair, Equus, The Full Monty, and several other shows that I can't think of off hand have nudity in them. Many visual performing arts in and of themselves deal with being nude, and how one uses their body to get across their performance, or message of that particular play, musical or dance.

I am sure Mother is upset about her daughter having to be nude as part of her training for visual arts, but Mother needs to remember that her child is an ADULT and in College, so it is no longer Moms decision but her daughters. Daughter read the Professors syllabus, she decided to take the class and obviously has chosen to follow a career path where nudity is part of it.

It is a non issue.
