Not Jeb Bush. Got it.

http://video.foxnews.com/v/4242631656001/rubio-jeb-bush-face-repeated-questions-on-iraq-war/?#sp=show-clips

As you see, this is a Fox News driven thing (IRAQ War do-over question.)

they can only talk about hillary, they havent been given their talking points on jeb bush or rubio or any of the others that have have "idiot" moments.
Like allen west who claimed sharia law was in walmart.
Rand paul flip flopping, oh sorry "evolving in days " over defense and other things...
Bush and his daily flip flops, Rubio NOT gaining the latino vote, Cruz is getting battered by nasa misunderstanding. and what it should and shouldnt cover.
As for the other nut cases, santorum, Donald Trump,Ben Carson,Lindsey Graham,Mike Huckabee,Bobby Jindal are too crackpot even by moderate republican standards.

Coincidences everywhere... [:D]

quote:

Every once in a while you stumble into a news cycle and think, “This cannot be a coincidence.”

As news reports bring word that Hillary Clinton is still refusing to answer questions from the press, Ramadi falls to ISIS, and things just aren’t going well for the Democrats right now, fear not. The press steps in with its usual “The GOP is doomed” headlines.

We begin on May 16th with the Washington Post. The GOP has such a big field of candidates, party leaders are “anxious about their chances in ’16.” That’s the actual title. It seems having such a deep field is a bad thing, unlike last time when having such a shallow field was a bad thing.

If only the GOP would coronate one candidate, just like the Democrats....

Cant be propaganda. Its got to be coincidence!!! [:D]

Well, can any Republican run a positive platform? Given their nature -- attack, get mad, rail, and complain --- the debates could be a bloodbath.

As you've seen -- not a single respondent on this thread supports anyone named.

try looking again at post #16...

and making ridiculous assumptions---"no one on this thread supports..."---doesn't help your case either.

did you come here to genuinely discuss things, or to toss insults and start a fight I wonder?

You're leaving the Galaxy. Topic is Republican Presidential Candidates. Who are you going to vote for and why? How will that candidate help the nation?

All Candidates will be asked the following question (which was asked on Fox News) -- would you invade IRAQ in 2002 now that you've seen the results of the invasion.

Given public reaction this week, any answer of YES means such candidate will forfeit his/her Presidential nomination.

What a stupid question. Hindsight being 20/20 and all that. They need to come up with better questions.

And again, Hillarys' decision to support the Iraq war is immaterial?

Cruz first and of the serious contenders Bush last. All better than Hillery

As presented by Gail Collins:

• Republican contenders are multiplying like gerbils

• The first Republican debate is scheduled for Aug. 6 — plan your party now — and the way things stand, the crowd on stage may be the size of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

• Right now there seem to be at least 15 hopefuls: Jeb Bush, Rick Santorum, Rick Perry, Donald Trump, George Pataki, Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, Lindsey Graham, Bobby Jindal, George Pataki, Rand Paul, Scott Walker, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Mike Huckabee

• That’s a pretty diverse group, with one Indian-American, one African-American, two Cuban-Americans and, anyway, at least one woman. Plus, the list includes both the first surgeon to separate twins conjoined at the back of the head and the first reality-show host to fire Khloe Kardashian.

• The Republicans are planning a maximum of 12 primary debates this year

• on the issues front, there’s already a lot of consensus. For instance, retroactive foreign policy: If they could time-travel back to 2002, everybody would stay the heck out of Iraq.

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/05/16/opinion/gail-collins-let-george-do-it.html?_r=0

With all that mass of bodies one would think someone would emerge with a brain and know how to use it. Their message right now seems to be "Hate on Hillary". Twelve debates? They can count that high? A former US President Barlett once said from 'The West Wing': "This isn't a debate, its a multiple person press conference". This is to mean that those individuals will have rehearse the theater act before hand. There will not be any real dialogue. These individuals already display an inability to effectively run a high school marching band, let alone a nation of 310+ million people. So what are we...REALLY.....getting from the GOP?

Another war in the Middle East. More failure from the education system. Dropping the federal budget on the poor while giving more stuff to the rich. Truck loads of promises that will have an equal amount of excuses later on. Some of them have serious flaws in their character or mindset. Some have serious baggage problems. The remainder are really not sure which century, planet, or country they exist in. That they are called the 'GOP Clown Car' is not meant as a virtue but a viewpoint on how serious the voters are towards them.

All these people have to do is simply give conservatives and libertarians the false hope that there is a chance at victory. They will bring out the same issues they have had for the last thirty years. They are against abortion for example, but will make no really effort to do anything about it. If they solved it, it would be one less thing for them to bitch about in the next election. So where is the motivation accomplish stuff?

They are all electable. If moderates and liberals do not vote.

They have been trying their hardest to get US Citizens to be so disgusted with government so as not to go to the polls. Because when few people turn out to the polls, we get more bad government. When many people go to the polls, we tend to have good government. This last mid term election had the fewest US Citizens voting. We 'elected' Republicans to Congress. Five and a half months later, what has the Republican controlled Congress actually accomplished for the betterment of the American people?

Oh, they are trying to give the top 0.2% of Americans a tax break. Because that segment of the population is so 'burden' by taxes....

So you feel someone that wanted to shut down the whole government because he was childish, would make a good President? You do know that....EVERY....enemy of the United States has been trying to do that for centuries now? He succeeded where the others failed: by exploiting the ignorance of the 'Low Information Voters'. Would you have a problem if Al Qaeda had partially shut down the US Government? Of course you would! But if a Republican does it, your 'OK' with it.....

Jeb Bush recently stated the 21 advisers he would have for his foreign policy team. Seventeen of them were in the George W. Bush administration. Mr. J. Bush also stated he would have his brother helping on the team. So this guy just lost all credibility to be taken seriously.

Your going to tell me the remaining people between these two are any better......how?

You dont like Hillary because she is more a man than you are!

Yeah, because big numbers are just to hard for them. Unfortunately the job requires to understand complex equations and large sets of numbers. An then report on these large numbers to the American public.

It's called 'thinking for yourself'. Or are you just told what to think and do?

Individuals form individual viewpoints. On each person by themselves and their merits.

I don't like Hillery because she is a self serving sociopath who will sell anyone down the river to advance herself. What would you say about a Rep who when they had emails subpoenaed erased them. You not only wouldn't vote for them but you would want them in jail.

Your evaluation of Cruz's is based on this thought process, what bad reason could there have been for his actions, that is what I will believe. As for Bush those people have learned from what has happened since then.

I recognize that "fiscal responsibility" and "liberal" are like oil and water, but for the some of us, ted cruz was making a principled stand concerning the former.

that said, I also recognize that liberals want even more government than already exists. however, some of us are of the mind there is already too much (never minding that when the government "shuts down" it doesn't really shut down).

and being that we already think the leviathan is too big, govt "shut downs" don't cause a chicken little response to us.

also, we don't want it "shut down" per se, we want a fair portion of it gone period.

last thing, do you understand you are being like a cat criticizing a dog for being not being a cat. if you want to criticize the dog, learn what the dog is supposed to do, and point out where he fails at it.

feel very invited to explain how my (or any of us) liking more than one candidate so early in the game is evidence of "being told what to think and do?"

good luck not looking foolish on that one.

mnottertail -> RE: Republicans for President!! (5/18/2015 12:44:29 PM)

we know that current 'republicans/conservatives/libertarians' have no commerce with fiscal responsibility. And Teddie in particular, not at all fiscally responsible or even fiscally oriented.
