Hunter....... Why are you unable to debate the topic at hand without doing what you usually do and attempting to sidetrack.

The clue is in the thread title. [8|]

You can believe your own Bullshit hunter but history will still show you to be ill informed. Your post shows you have no fucking clue who is running the insurgency or how it got started. The sad part is that you are too lazy/stupid/ignorant to actually research the matter.

ISIS grew inside the prison system were Bush Chenney Et al were throwing just about any Sunni the could find. Firstly they bombed shit out of Iraqs infostructure, then add to this Bremmer dismantling the civil service/police force et etc and handing control to the Shia, and there you have it.... A cess pit waiting to boil over.

While you would like to believe this, and there is a nugget of truth to be mined from it. A buddy of mine was a prison guard at the prison you mention. As a matter of fact he told me about killing one of the bad guys with a through and through shot from a shotgun beanbag shot. I didnt know you could do that. Perhaps it's a police special beanbag round. I'll have to ask him and get back to you on that. But, troll, the bad guys were in the prison and part of the "stable" country Barack and Joe touted when we pulled out. I know you'd like to twist that to cast blame. I know your lefty rags want to slant that toward Bush derangement syndrome. But, when we left, the bad guys, who were bad guys before we got there, we're all rounded up and killed or inprisoned. But, again, this is more than you'll read or grasp so I understand it's to little avail pointing it out to you.

Ah, I see, you believe ISIS sprang from the sea on a clamshell. Okay, I'll try not to stretch your mind in the future.

You've had your quota of dumbass today.

Politesub53 -> RE: ISIS Does Affect Us Here (6/17/2015 5:02:35 PM)

More bullshit from you Hunter.......... I know its what you do best but it doesnt make it a fact.

Many of those guys in Prison were caught under either Cheneys or Rumsfelds desire for info on AQ. Informers were fingering anyone they could for either cash or a vendetta. The US just kept on filling the jails.

No doubt someone else you "Know" will be along to enlighten us all sometime soon...... [8|]

Actually the people doing that sort of thing were pretty good at what they did. It really takes a strong desire to twist the facts to steal valor from them. You should feel shame for doing so. It's pretty trite and beneath even you.

Anytime you wish to debate valour and Blackwater or Abu Ghraib get back to me. You have made yourself look a prick by trying to suggest I said something I didnt. I was speaking specifically about the Bush governments hasty incarceration of anyone who they suspect might be a terrorist. despite there being little reason for many of those jailed to be there.

How dare you fucking accuse me of trying to belittle US troops in general. It just goes to show others what an an arsehole you really are.

cloudboy -> RE: ISIS Does Affect Us Here (6/17/2015 5:30:10 PM)

Interesting read from the NYT yesterday:

• The main terrorist threat in the United States is not from violent Muslim extremists, but from right-wing extremists. Just ask the police.

• In a survey we conducted with the Police Executive Research Forum last year of 382 law enforcement agencies, 74 percent reported anti-government extremism as one of the top three terrorist threats in their jurisdiction; 39 percent listed extremism connected with Al Qaeda or like-minded terrorist organizations. And only 3 percent identified the threat from Muslim extremists as severe, compared with 7 percent for anti-government and other forms of extremism.

• The self-proclaimed Islamic State’s efforts to radicalize American Muslims, which began just after the survey ended, may have increased threat perceptions somewhat, but not by much, as we found in follow-up interviews over the past year with counterterrorism specialists at 19 law enforcement agencies. These officers, selected from urban and rural areas around the country, said that radicalization from the Middle East was a concern, but not as dangerous as radicalization among right-wing extremists.

• An officer from a large metropolitan area said that “militias, neo-Nazis and sovereign citizens” are the biggest threat we face in regard to extremism.

Who would of thunk it?

It's been all over the news Cloudboy. Why are you so late catching on.

Shocking that the New York Times considers right wingers to be dangerous

Almost as shocking as left wingers feeling determined to derail this thread...

But thats not the topic.

Heres the article that the topic is based upon:

quote:

The FBI is in the midst of a broad campaign to disrupt potential terrorists inspired by ISIS, with several arrests expected before July 4th, law enforcement officials told ABC News.

The latest arrest that is part of this campaign came Saturday in New York, where a college student thought al Qaeda was getting soft and "making efforts to prepare an explosive device for detonation,” according to the FBI.

Hundreds of investigations are underway in all 50 states. Many involve suspected ISIS supporters, authorities said.

ISIS: Trail of Terror

In the New York case, Munther Omar Saleh was accused of being an alleged “fervent supporter” of ISIS and offering to translate the terror group's propaganda into English. Court records quoted a tweet that read: “I fear AQ could be getting too moderate.”

Saleh had been under FBI surveillance since March when a Port Authority police officer saw him walking with a lantern on the George Washington Bridge, according to court records.

The FBI said Saleh told a confidential informant he was “in N.Y. and trying to do an Op.”

Instructions for a pressure cooker bomb were found on his computer along with images of New York City landmarks and tourist attractions, what court records called “potential targets for a terrorist attack.”

Saleh allegedly expressed support for the attack on the offices of the French satirical publication Charlie Hebdo and the attempted attack on the Draw the Prophet cartoon contest in Garland, Texas.

In roughly a month since two suspected ISIS supporters were killed in that attack, authorities have made at least five arrests of suspected ISIS supporters as part of what law enforcement officials tell ABC News is a broad campaign to disrupt potential terrorists encouraged by ISIS through social media.

(If you want to discuss how dangerous the New York Slimes feels right wingers are, start your own thread, cloudboy)

And DHS declared Veterans to be the biggest threat.
Both the Times and Obama will divert to anything to ignore the threat of Islamic extremism. Remember they pretended that FT Hood was "workplace violence" when even you should have been able to see it was terrorism.
