I specially like this bit
Two of the court’s conservatives, Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Anthony Kennedy, joined the court’s four liberals in rejecting the lawsuit in a 6-3 decision. Roberts delivered the opinion for the majority.

'In this instance, the context and structure of the Act compel us to depart from what would otherwise be the most natural reading of the pertinent statutory phrase'...

SCALIA: 'WORDS NO LONGER HAVE MEANING'...

It seems normal, for certain leftists to find joy is in seeing a furtherance of hateful, bitter division

I have mixed feelings about the decision. I'm happy for all the people who will continue to receive subsidies and the lives that will be saved as a result. At the same time, I had hoped that if the subsidies weren't upheld, the resulting chaos would either result in Medicare being expanded to all by executive order, or would cause Democrats to regain their majority in the next election so they could write and pass a law for single-payer health care.

LMAO Im happy for the six million people who wont lose their insurance.
THe schadenfreude is there, oh yes....Im taking delight in the fact that the republicans have had 56 repeals voted down, and two SCOTUS against their machine.
Of course republicans have done NOTHING to be divisive or hate filled, nothing at all. But you cant get over it...and that IS not my problem...

well it saved the repubs from having to show their non existent healthcare plan ....snorts
I dont disagree with you mostly
But the chaos for those who would have suffered by the resulting lack of healthcare would have killed off a good many of them before another *accceptable" plan could kick in, even emergency stop gaps..
I hate that insurance is still embedded the way it is...medicaid for all(or at least single payer) covering everyone. But for those 6 million I cant be sad today.

56 repeal attempts .... all failures
2 Supreme Court attempts to have Oamacare declared unConstitutional ... both failures.

That's an extraordinary record of failure - and I was under the impression that Americans had a low tolerance for failure and failures.

Who in their right minds would let anyone with such a consistent unblemished record of failure near the reins of Govt? On this evidence the only possible outcome would more failure. Is that what Americans want?

Medicaid for all would be better than Medicare for all since Medicaid covers nursing homes on a permanent basis and Medicare does not. Of course, we would need to get rid of that Medicaid asset recovery crap that makes Medicaid like a loan for people over a certain age.

This ends the silly Republican attempts to cripple the existing healthcare act...but... it will just provide Republicans with a clear cut political agenda for the next election... Keep in mind this decision means nothing if a Republican takes the presidency with a Republican majority in both houses... The healthcare act will be repealed.

Or tweak it

Which, "the Republicans" represent around half of the country

And that half of the country deserves representation too

Which is one reason that is absolutely impossible on the order of 1 divided by zero chance. Unless we go to national single payer, it aint gonna happen.

We have seen no tweaks upon our horizons, and are certain none are in the offing.

You really do not follow the Tea Party or a good half of the GOP do you?

That we dislike Scalia because he had made his mind up before even hearing opening arguments, implies he's not a judge. That his party stood to benefit politically meant he had a conflict of interest. Since it is pretty easy to show that any issue in which the GOP/TP needed a political ruling to help in their campaign seasons, Justice Scalia was their man 'to get it done in the third branch'.

Before this ruling, I think I mentioned in another thread that this guy was going to try to slam the ACA in anyway he could. Seems I predicted correctly.

Then why did they not attempt to tweak it when it was open for debate? You know as well as I they did not want to develop a healthcare plan at all.

They still don't have alternative plan... Republican representatives have continually failed their constituents and put business interests ahead of the health of their voters.

I am all for having the Republican half of this country represented... now if they would only elect those that will represent THEM.
