Justice Kennedy's closing statement: "It would misunderstand these men and women to say they disrespect the idea of marriage. Their plea is that they do respect it, respect it so deeply that they seek to find its fulfillment for themselves. Their hope is not to be condemned to live in loneliness, excluded from one of civilization’s oldest institutions. They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right."

If it is a right for you or for anyone in the U.S. It should be for all. This is a human right not a traffic law and some bigoted born again vote for me politician should not have the right to deny it. And the majority agrees thank heaven.

I agree, but when you all talk of inalienable rights I think the exact the same thing. You don't have any rights, none whatsoever, just ways of doing things and ideas and these things may or may not become the social norm. I don't think it is right to force the Catholic Church to marry people. It's a private institution. I'm not a catholic, and I'm not a fan of Catholicism, but I just can't see how and why it is a good thing to force them to go against their collective conscience.
