For the record..Yes I do believe it every questionable fire should be investigated.

The first fire, on June 22, tore through the lawn outside the College Hill Seventh Day Adventist of Knoxville, Tenn., after a firebug torched a line of hay and bags of compost outside the church’s door.

Knoxville authorities believe the blaze wasn’t a hate crime, but rather a case of vandalism. It left the church’s van heavily burned, WATE-TV reported.

Vandalism... come on... it amazes me how it seems the first words out of... "the authorities"... is..."it wasn't a hate crime". This seems to always be the response when an obvious hate crime is committed. It makes no difference if it is a black on white or white on black... it is always... Not a hate crime.

Why not keep mouths shut until the facts and reasons are known beyond a reasonable doubt... then address them for what they are?

Owner the one I quoted could be nothing but arson...and nothing but a hate crime... Why do so called authorities seem to always deny these incidents are hate crimes when they obviously are?

The local Ku Klux Klan chapter in Missouri has vowed to use “lethal force” against Ferguson protesters, as the town awaits the grand jury decision on whether local police officer Darren Wilson will be charged in the shooting death of Michael Brown. KKK members have been distributing fliers in the St. Louis area and on social media with an ominous message to protesters in St. Louis: “You have awakened a sleeping giant,” the flier states. “You have been warned by the Ku Klux Klan! There will be consequences for your acts of violence against the peaceful, law abiding citizens of Missouri,” according to VICE News.

The flier accused Ferguson protesters of acting like “terrorists” rather than “peaceful protesters,” by threatening the community, daily lives and property of “the good people of St. Louis County of all races, colors, and creeds.” The Traditionalist American Knights of the KKK warned: “Your right to freedom of speech does not give you the right to terrorize citizens. We will use lethal force as provided under Missouri Law to defend ourselves.”


The white supremacist group has already voiced an opinion on the Ferguson protests. Over the summer, a KKK chapter in South Carolina announced it was raising money for Wilson, who shot and killed unarmed African-American teenager Michael Brown, VICE News reported. “All money will go to the cop who did his job against the negro criminal,” the announcement reportedly said, referring to an alleged organized fundraiser to be held in Sullivan, a town an hour outside of Ferguson. Missouri authorities told VICE News at the time that there was no record of any known KKK members in the area or any reports of related incidents.

In recent weeks, gun sales in and around Ferguson have reportedly spiked as residents await the findings of the grand jury investigation into Brown’s death last August. Local officials and clergy have called for calm when the decision is released.

I realize that free candy is free candy. I am not so sure I would be comfortable with allowing my children to have free candy from the KKK. I am a live and let live kind of gal, but. . . I think that I would have to say "No," on that one.

In my neighborhood they put messages in baggies along with a rock and throw them in your front yard. Thank heavens they are thought of as racists nuts and must sneak around at night to deliver their messages.

I wouldn't let mine associate with Klansmen.
These things couldn't happen, the people upset about the fires, without them even being investigated have assured us that people like that wouldn't use other forms of attacks if they were deprived of guns, and have assured me that this isn't the way racists prefer to attack.

I would think in order to prevent knee-jerk reactions that lead to more incidents like Ferguson.

What's really sad is that I truly think that any fires at a black church should be considered suspect right off the bat, regardless of Ferguson, Baltimore, NY, Cleveland, etc.
