Status: offline 		I am an unattached male in my 20s and I am excited to explore the world of BDSM. I would like to know what city has the best, largest, most active kink scene. Employment isn't an issue for me, I run my own business it doesn't matter where I am as long as I get my work done. I am interested in experimenting with play partners, if a relationship happens that is fine as well, but I am not expecting it.

This is the only thread I could find on this website http://www.collarchat.com/m_2342947/mpage_1/tm.htm it is around 7 years old. I have also searched around a bit using a few search engines. I was hoping to get some input from users here where everyone could come to a consensus on a city that would be best for me to relocate to. I am not looking for a list of cities, I am looking for only the best recommendation. I know their are many knowledgeable people on this site about the communities that exist, thank you for taking the time to read (and hopefully answer).

Status: offline 		Yes. NYC. Atlanta has a good scene.

I love Raleigh's scene, because it's active with a lot going on, surrounding cities have many options,a nd I can fly out of here for events elsewhere.

Status: offline 		Philadelphia also has a very active scene. You're likely to hear detractors say that Philly is perpetually caught up with infighting. But the truth is, that's part of the Philly culture showing. Philly has a habit of leaving all it's dirty laundry out instead of dealing with things behind closed doors like most other places do. That goes on in many other areas, too, not just the kink scene.

I should have mentioned in the original post, I am heterosexual. I am aware that area has a booming homosexual scene, probably wouldn't be the best fit for me.

Originally the 2 primary cities I have been considering are Las Vegas, and NYC. I will keep checking on this thread for more input. Thanks for all the information so far.

Good call... I liked the spirit of San Francisco! It seemed pro alt lifestyle, sex positive and looked like a great place to live as well. I haven't been there in 10 years or so and when I was there the gay leather scene seemed much larger than the hetro scene. I was just a tourist so I don't have the skinny on the behind the scene details. Is it mostly a gay leather scene?

San Francisco's population is 852,469. NYC has 8.49 million people. Despite how actively kinkcentric SF is, I think NYC is going to have more people out actively participating in the scene at clubs, events and as members of groups. The Dom sub Friends munch in NYC took up a whole restaurant when I went to it.

Status: offline 		I support Dvr22999874 and MariaB: Berlin, London and Hamburg ;-)

With more than 10 regular munches including a bi-weekly international and a French munch Berlin is definitely worth a trip. Not to mention all the workshops, parties and other events.

And our weekly "Wednesday-Munch" also occupies most of the restaurant. Just in case you like to meet lots of new people :-)

Las Vegas doesn't have a kink scene at all.

They have one munch, but no clubs, and even private play parties are somewhat rare.

Friends I have in Vegas recently recommended we drive to LA while in Vegas if we wanted to go to a kink party during a holiday there.

Denver has got a pretty active scene (3 clubs, not including the gay ones) with regular parties and a couple big yearly events, although I wouldn't call it 'most active' by any stretch.

Umm there's a lot more heterosexual people (or at least men playing with women) than queer people at most events, even in the San Francisco Bay Area. If you're freaked out by seeing two guys doing BDSM play with each other, it probably isn't somewhere you'd want to visit, though.

Status: offline 		Nobody is saying you have to. As mentioned there are plenty of straight women there to play around with. Your reservations seem to be based more on the fact that there's going to be gay stuff in your vicinity, which by the way, will happen anywhere you go
