And he's been given a free lawyer, tax-payer funded, to represent him.

I want to know more about why this man, that had committed many prior offences was allowed to continue to walk the streets freely, in a country that he was not even a citizen?

Where is the outrage about this situation?

What other country in the world, can you commit crimes, and continue to be released besides this one?

This man had been departed 5 times, and was back in this country, and was wanted on drug charges?

WTF? is going on in this country? WTF

The U S, alone among all the nations in the world, does not have the right to secure boarders or to say who can and cannot enter the country. This is the only country in the world where it is racist to know there is a difference between a legal immigrant and the "undocumented" immigrant. This is because it is the "undocumented" immigrant, and only the "undocumented" immigrant who keeps our economy going. (sarcasm font off)

So much for national security, I guess that is a joke.
This shit is crazy.
Where is the outrage?

OMG, Don't tell me any more.
I can't take it!

On the other hand, don't all undocumented people get pretty much, EVERYTHING a citizen get's/if not more?

I am surprised he does not have some FAMOUS/expensive lawyer pleading his case pro bono.

Legal representation is the right of every citizen, and the mere fact that he is an "undocumented" immigrant is no reason not to provide him with everything a citizen would get. After all he has to vote Democrat next year.

Why not TRY to leave the Democratic/Republican partisan crap out of these situations?
Republicans have supported/and campaigned for undocumented workers, probably more than Democrats.
Don't get me started on all policies/issues that Bush supported {or turned a blind eye}.
What is the point?
Like Republcans are going to do something?
LOL

Republicans/and Democrats are pretty much morphing into the same party, except for outlier issues and situations.

I will agree that there are nearly as many Republicans as Democrats on the insane side of this issue. But it is San Francisco where it is almost illegal to be a Republican.

I don't like him but maybe we should vote for Trump. He has a better handle on this than a lot of people.

The really, really sad thing is, the LACK of outrage.

San Francisco is known for being a city, that "cares" about inequality and people's rights.

Who is leading the charge in San Francisco for the rights of Kathryn Steinle, to be able to walk down the street?

No-one

well, that may be because the city WAS concerned about the inequality of deporting this "poor, undocumented" man from somewhere down South who was being harassed by the bad, bad I.C.E. people for some penny-ante "non-crime"...coming here illegally and an old pot charge (pot never hurt ANYBODY)...talk about denial of rights.

The fact that he shot someone...a legal, law-abiding young woman...after being released into the bosom of the "caring city"? Whoopsie.

I just finished reading about Kathryn Steinle.
She seemed like a beautiful human being.
RIP Kathryn

I linked the Daily Mail, because at the bottom of the article they have a lot of pictures of Kathryn.

was just watching fox's "the five" and eric bolling put a reasonable question to juan Williams about sanctuary city policy. he absolutely flustered and could not legitimately answer it.

greg guttfeld suggested that this should become the issue that the media asks all the democratic candidates in the same way they ask republicans about gay marriage. dana perino, in affirmation of guttfeld's suggestion, said "yes, and as juan has just shown, the democrats wont be able to answer."

ironically enough, the direct jab went over William's head (who by the way is hands down so much better than bob beckel, who was recently fired) and the camera showed him nodding his head in agreement with her.

If nothing else, this tragedy has started a national discussion, on the role of
"Santuary Cities".
I was in San Francisco a few years ago, and I had no idea it even was a "Sanctuary City".

I read this in the Washington Post.
I think it's an interesting article about the creation and the role of "Sanctuary Cities."

Washington Post-- 6 Big Things to Know about Sanctuary Cities

I really would like to see the issue of violent/repeat or career criminals that are not legal citizens, separated from the issue of non-documented people.
Most people with a brain realize they are separate issues.

I do have a serious problem, with people that are violent, serious/and or repeat offenders, that are not even citizens, being kept in this country, on the taxpayers dime.

o'reilly is pushing for a law that makes someone who is deported, and then returns and is caught, automatically subject to five years in prison. subsequent deportations/returns/arrests double to 10 and then 20 yrs. he hopes to gather 150,000 signatures on a petition and then present it to Boehner and McConnell and ask them to work it out in legalese.

and I think there is a congressman (or senator?) that is working on a bill that will penalize sanctuary cities with the removal of federal dollars for law enforcement that they have been presently getting.

Or since they have declared themselves to be above the Federal government maybe we should emulate Sherman and burn everything in the cities of value to the ground then spend the next decade teaching them that they are the lowest form of human life in the nation.

Sen Shelby (R Al) advocates cutting off all Federal Spending for Sanctuary cities, not just law enforcement.

megyn Kelly and dana perino (crush) just got done effectively railing on the Obama administration for not interacting at all with this situation (especially communicating with the family or sending an official to the funeral), noting how either the white house, or the federal government inserted themselves into freddy gray, Michael brown and trayvon martin, ironically enough, where no federal law had been involved.
