I just read a long article in the NYRoB about ISIS. It was packed full of information about who started it and how it mushroomed. One startling fact is that ISIS was growing and forming even as the USA was spending $100 Billion Dollars a year on the surge with 170,000 troops deployed in IRAQ. Here's another fact to consider. In 2003, before the Iraq War: (1) the borders of Syria and IRAQ were stable. (2) Secular Arab nationalism appeared to have triumphed over the older forces of tribalism and religion (3) IRAQIs and Syrians had better incomes, education, health care systems, and infrastructure, and a more positive future than most other citizens in the developing world.

Since you don't seem to know this that is far more than saying we won't join ISIS if you give us guns. That is why I specifically named the Kurds and Yazidi. They aren't going to join with ISIS. You know people they want to exterminate. Why is it, since you guys are so smart none have you have come up with anything better than ignore them and they will go away? 83 years old. One of the mysteries of ISIS is that its founder, Abu Musah al-Zarqawi, was roundly regarded as a savage lunatic. In 1989 he went to Afghanistan to do Jihad. In 2003 he helped organize the insurgency network with Saddam loyalists. He helped tip the country into civil war beyond the insurgency. Beyond that he: • Blew up the UN Headquarters in IRAQ • Released a film wherein he personally sawed off the head of an American • He blew up the great Shia Shrine at Samarra killing hundreds of IRAQI children • He bombed three hotels in Jordan killing 60 civilians at a wedding in the process ** An interesting side note is that the Iranians gave him safe shelter in 2002 and he repaid their kindness by strapping a suicide vest to his father-in-law to kill IRAN's senior politic advisor in IRAQ, Ayatollah Mohammad Baqir al-Hakim. After that he blew up several Shia shrines. He was killed in 2006. Overall ISIS has changed its name seven times and has had four leaders. It is still a mystery what attracts fighters to ISIS. No one really liked it founder. One point in favor of ISIS is that many SUNNIs see it as their only protection from SHIA reprisals. (In 2006 Shia militias killed 50 SUNNIS a day by putting a power drill through their skulls thereafter dumping the bodies on the streets of Baghdad.) ISIS is not delivering sustainable economic growth or stable justice within its territories, and it has reintroduced forcible rape and slavery as legal. It only took 300 ISIS fighters to overwhelm Ramadi and drive out thousands of better equipped IRAQI soldiers. Today 30 countries claim to have ties to ISIS. The OP doesn't read, so you'd never get this kind of information or background from his posting -- which is limited to Drudge site links.
