kinkyAbstract -> ProDom and FinDom. Why are they allowed on this site? (8/23/2015 8:15:38 PM)

I am just curious. Because it clearly states in the Terms and Conditions of Collarspace.com that the website does not allow users to advertise services. Well, what the fuck do you call what they are doing? They advertise services and request money for those services... And everyone knows for a fact that they aren't advertising sex, because that would be illegal. So therefore it must be services! Right? Lol.

Here is what the Terms and Conditions state:

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
WWW.COLLARSPACE.COM
effective date: 8/27/02
last modified: 12/18/14

4. MEMBERSHIP TERMS, LIMITATIONS & CONDITIONS:

4.3. No Illegal Conduct Allowed: You will not use the Website in any manner inconsistent with any applicable laws or regulations. You may not include any personally-identifying information such as phone numbers, street addresses, Web site addresses, email addresses, Instant Messenger screen names, or any other information that if provided may be used to circumvent the Website's communication capabilities.

Dunno the answer but I have to agree with the concept of the question.
Maybe it all just boils down to the resource allocation of removing profiles just isn't focused on this.

How do people always manage to run into that kind of thing? I have been active on this site for some time now and never ever has someone asked me for money.
Then again, back in college I had trouble buying weed because everyone said that I look like a cop.

You haven't read any profiles?
Many profiles ask for money (they use code words, like "tribute" or "gifts" of course).

I find it hard to believe that you have never come across this. Do you talk to people on the site, specifically women?

FrankAr -> RE: ProDom and FinDom. Why are they allowed on this site? (8/24/2015 2:16:11 AM)

I read some article a few months ago from the ninemsn website underscore from another article about the different countries and how it does change. I read in the article that people can be picked up for the soliciting, but not for the sex itself. Some countries pick up for the solicitation and the sex part. Some countries do not care about the solicitations or the sex.

Go figure.

So you then have to think of the Mods being in the background trying to incorporate the laws from many countries , even though it does originate from the USA with freedom of speech.

Frank Ar.

Damnit! Some how the complete paragraph did not paste into the message box.

CORRECTION!

This is the entire paragraph I originally meant to post:

kinkyAbstract -> RE: ProDom and FinDom. Why are they allowed on this site? (8/24/2015 2:59:20 AM)

I'm unsure what point you are trying to make here. Whether or not prostitution is illegal isn't all that relevant. Especially if you are talking about laws and crimes committed online in another countries jurisdiction.

It doesn't matter what you are offering as a service on collarspace.com the Terms and Conditions make it clear that advertising any kind of service (legal and/or illegal) is not permitted.

I just made a correction to the post because the full paragraph from the Terms and Conditions was incomplete. It might make more sense now to read the whole paragraph I am referring to.

"You may not use the Website to advertise products or services, nor may You use the Website in order to solicit products or services, unless otherwise permitted by collarspace.com."

There's your answer.

I have been involved in numerous affiliate trading schemes, selling BDSM toys to BDSMers and Collarspace has sometimes but not always allowed me to advertise a link to my site on here. They can stop me under the words of their conditions or permit me, which they have.

kinkyAbstract -> RE: ProDom and FinDom. Why are they allowed on this site? (8/24/2015 3:23:03 AM)

Oh? So you are saying that Collarspace.com is permitting this soliciting of sex industry workers? Because if that's the case then I think the users should be made aware of the intentions of this site. I personally dont want to be a member of a website that pretends to be a place for people with shared interests can connect and is really just a vehicle for gathering leads on potential customers for sex industry workers. You know, those are two very different things and collarspace.com should not tricking people into being bombarded by solicitors.

So the problem still lies... Indeed you are correct and that is precisely what I wanted to get at. Why is collarspace.com permitting it? Why then is the sites intention so misleading? Who likes being tricked like that?

The users are made aware. right in the Terms of Use you quoted.

There is a difference between intended use and actual use. For example, intended use for Preparation H is to treat hemorrhoids. Some people also use it to reduce swelling and bags under the eyes. There is no reason to think that Preparation H should therefore label their packaging differently.

No one is tricking you. Stay or don't as you see fit. Simple enough.

Who cares? Stay or go. Seems a simple enough decision.

Lucylastic -> RE: ProDom and FinDom. Why are they allowed on this site? (8/24/2015 3:41:19 AM)

you are perfectly free to leave...but before you do, please show me one free website out there that does not have ....."sex workers" amongst the members, especially an adult only site.
The site is full of scammers of all kinds..predators, wankers, hookers, crazies and abusers. you want to legislate morality on a BDSM site?
Plus what Maria said.

Until recently there was a fora section for professional services.

Yes and no.
The adult in me says: They're old enough (hopefully!) to make their own choices, what are they whining about? It's free dammit!
The slave in me says: Oh my, we are so incredibly vulnerable!

PEOPLE are vulnerable. People are human. I know just as many dominants taken advantage of as submissives, for the sake of "love" and other tender emotions.

Which would you be out? Money, in an agreed upon transaction, or emotions in a free-for-all?

I've chosen emotions, but then, I'm aware of the potential for doom (and AMAZING pleasure), and I take my chances as an adult.

thishereboi -> RE: ProDom and FinDom. Why are they allowed on this site? (8/24/2015 6:34:32 AM)

Why do you care so much? Was one of your friends scammed by a pro? According to your profile you are looking for a dominant and pro's look for subs so you can't be afraid they are going to snatch up all the good ones. And yet they bother you to the point that you devote a good part of you profile to slamming them. How can they possibly effect your life that much? Now I can see someone looking at your profile and thinking you are way too focused on putting down other people instead of trying to tell a prospective domme why she should pick you and passing you over for that. But I can't think of any way them just being here can hurt you.

I can't answer for them but I have talked to a lot of women on this site and also have never had any of them ask for money. I have however had several men message me and ask if they can pay me to do various things to them. Not sure why they think I would be interested but my guess is they are so desperate they send the same cmail to anyone on here who id's as female.
