I believe our law enforcement should be better equipped than the criminal elements they're tasked with bringing to justice. The military surplus gear is only brought out here in extreme situations.

The suspect, identified as Jarvis Hall, 34, did not appear in court to answer to the murder charge lobbed against him in the death of Forest Acres police officer Greg Alia, 32. Alia, was a 7-year veteran of the force. He was married and just had a baby boy with his wife, Kassy... Police were called to Richland Mall just before 8 a.m. in regard to a suspicious person inside a vehicle.

The suspect, identified as Jarvis Hall, 34, tried to flee the scene before shooting and killing Alia, Sealy said. Authorities have charged Hall with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Hall, according to investigators, was approached by Alia and a second officer. Hall, officials said, got into a struggle with Alia, pulled out a gun, and fired on Alia.

Australia: Two Dead In Police Station Shooting

Two people have been killed in a shooting outside a police building in Sydney, Australia. New South Wales Police say the gunman, who witnesses say was dressed in black, had approached a police employee and shot him dead at "point blank range". The victim, an IT worker, had been leaving work at the Parramatta-based headquarters at about 4.30pm local time when he was killed. The gunman then fired at several Special Constables inside the police building. Three of them came outside and they were joined by several police officers, killing the gunman in the exchange of fire, according to NSW Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione...

A police source told Australia's Fairfax Media that there was increased "chatter" monitored in the past week relating to a possible attack on the Parramatta headquarters, which is home to the homicide, drugs, Middle Eastern organised crime and gangs squads. He added that every officer had been ordered to wear their guns on them at all times this week, even while at their desks. It is understood police became aware of a plans for a possible attack on Parramatta headquarters 12 months ago. Australia has been on heightened alert for attacks by home-grown Islamist radicals since last year and in December two people were killed when police stormed a central Sydney cafe to end a 17-hour siege.

FR

Last night Memphis police Officer Terence Olridge was murdered outside his home.
The story made a point of saying he was off duty.
However he was in uniform, on his way to work.
As is so often the case the coward shot him in the back.

I am curious as to why you, or anyone for that matter, would assume that if someone had decided to murder someone that they would want to have a "fair fight"?

I didn't. But you have to critizise mentioning the murder while not admitting it is because you hate cops.

Yes you did when you said the shooter was a coward for shooting him in the back.

I don't hate all cops, just all crooked cops

I consider murders in general to be cowards.

Wrong again. Neither eisenhower (who first ok the invasion)nor kennedy  ever promised air support. Both presidents expressly forbade the use of amerikan air support. Richard bissel was the only one who promised air support. Since it was bissel's baby everyone believed the lying sack of shit. Hawkins (who planned the inchon invasion for macarthur) the planner of the cuba invasion, told him from the git that it would not work without air support.

Google can't seem to find anything to confirm either eisenhower or kenedy agreeing to air support.
