ORIGINAL: PeonForHer FR I would have thought that the medics would refer to a 'baby' when, for instance, talking to the parents and when the latter want said baby to come to term. On the other hand I'd bet they'd refer to a 'foetus' or an 'it' amongst themselves, also with the mother/father in the context of talking about, say, an abortion. My feeling is that, for the most part, the medics don't want to involve themselves in the ethical or religious debates, partly because it's not their province and aren't qualified to do so. They're medics and want to practise their medicine. I would suspect you are correct. And I think it also has a lot to do with how the individual views abortion. To make the claim that ALL doctors think the same way about any subject is bullshit. And that was pretty much the point I was making before lucy tried to make it into a personal attack against her. liar..you are just being your ignorant self. I had even said it... here. quote:

ORIGINAL: thishereboi I was talking about the live births and I am having a hard time believing you couldn't figure that out on your own. Not until the 14 week ultra sound. they were "its"... yanno most doctors dont or didnt use baby until the first trimester is over because miscarriages are more likely then. Now my last live birth was 24 years ago...but my first was 35 years ago and it died at 5 months gestation, they called him a dead fetus., they wouldnt let me hold him, took him away to the incinerator. Now you wanted to make it personal, go right ahead. I realise things have changed in those 25 years, but this is you ignoring the topic and bullshitting again. The fire at the clinic has been ruled as arson, but you wanna ignore that part... one of my kids was born in the UK the other two were born in canada. for what its worth. the fact you just went after me personally is your own issue. I explained why medical professional when I was pregnant didnt mention a "baby" in the first trimester....(cos yanno I actually recognize tech and terminology changes over the years.) I have never had an abortion. It isnt in me to do it, and YES I have been confronted with the possibility and choice. I will never be comfortable with limiting any womans choice when pregnant. ever. Edited to add the post the quote i stated.
