Most Americans don't possess a passport or a library card.

Of the people I actually know, am related to, or talk to often; not one of them thinks the U.S. should be playing Sheriff with a posse all over the world. Outside of the beltway; the only people I've even heard of liking U.S. foreign policy are the oil companies that get to pump middle eastern oil while our troops keep them safe.

Its amazing to me how many bought into the propaganda which suggested that American soldiers were sneaking Iraqi oil out in their canteens

I write this, because American companies didnt get any Iraqi oil field contracts to speak of.

That Iraq was about Texas oilmen is pure, unfounded propaganda

Initially, we had to be as involved in Middle eastern affairs as we were due to the Soviets' encroachments there. Many dont understand this, but the Cold War was for real, and the Middle East was the prime battle ground

Which explains why leftists (Soviet Union loving bitches that they are) always have their panties in a wad over our efforts there, and work overtime to mischaracterize / propagandize what happened there

Now we are fighting Islamists, the new darling of insane leftist freaks

Dig deeper and discover the truth if you want to be free

I don't believe this to be true...as an example most blacks voted for Obama because he was black but the rest of America voted for him because he campaigned to end the Iraqi war... So it was foreign policy they voted on. The Republicans tried to make it domestic economics and Gay marriage but it didn't work then.

How did the Bush family makes its millions? The Oil Industry. They happen to be friends with the Saudi Royal Family and the bid Laden family (whom handle construction projects in the Middle East). They had problems getting direct access to the oil in Iraq because Saddam didn't want to 'play ball'. So when a 'bin Laden' family member attacked the USA on 9/11/01, the Bush administration used it as justification to attack, invade and control Iraq. Once Iraq was under military control, the oil was directed as the Oil Companies in America dictated. The facts saw otherwise to your view point.

Here's a neat link of information....

..That shows Oil imports from Iraq to the United States. If oil actually came in, it would be due to AMERICAN companies. Since they are the ones with the most logistics in place. Therefore, they were getting oil, by contract, from Iraq. That is what's known as the 'Oil Futures' market. An how how did they get the oil contracts?

Given that the United States....OWNED....Iraq in 2003-2011, that would provide more than enough time for long term contracts to be created. Since no one told the Iraqis when the United States might leave, they were forced to make deals. With American Oil Companies.

Therefore, that defeats most of your arguments.

Further you try to suggest that those on the left do not have as much right to government as those on the right. If that is true, than those on the right should have been quiet from 2008 to 2014. But they weren't were they, Sanity? Therefore, if the right can speak up about government; so can the left. Dont like it? Tough shit, get a better argument in the future!

One would think conservatives would have learned from historical events in the Middle East. That they would be the one group in American whom is NOT in favor of going into ANOTHER Middle East Nation and fucking shit up. Thereby creating a bigger problem in the future. Because that is what happened in Iraq. The Bush administration destabilized that region, thus, creating ISIS. You would have us believe that by voting Republican/Tea Party, that we'll just go in....AGAIN....wipe out ISIS and Iran....and then the Middle East will be one big happy and peaceful place? With no further negative shit?

You really got to get your facts straight. Perhaps if you had dug deeper than one milometer into the 'ground' of US History, you would know all this....

DC... it is just numbers... there was an article on this I will try to find... and by the way there is nothing wrong with blacks voting for a black... they wanted...needed and got representation and in their situation I would have voted that way too... You vote for who you believe will represent your interests best.It just so happens I voted for Obama because of his promise to end the war. But the jest of the article was the break down in how groups voted... Whites voted closer to an even split...other groups though leaning more in one direction or another still had a significant split in the vote. Blacks however voted 96 percent for Obama... how else would this be explained except voting by race?

I think its not unfair to say that some? many? blacks voted for Obama because of skin color, but I think its probably accurate to say those same people wont be voting for ben carson. so the mitigating/confounding factor there is that most blacks vote democrat.

that said though, and to your point, there are a couple of fascinating videos out there, by howard stern, that ascribed republican positions to Obama and the voters positively gushed over those positions.

kdsub -> RE: Do Americans feel extra responsibility? (9/5/2015 1:08:16 PM)

I think its just common sense, by the numbers, that African Americans voted for the first black President. But if Obama would have been Republican you still would have had a record number of blacks voting Republican but not 96 percent.

Blacks have voted overwhelmingly Democratic in presidential elections for quite some time now. I've posted the numbers here before, but am too weary to look for them yet again.

How would you know? Don't you just go to the election booth and put a cross against a name?

FR

Should anyone want to progress from "common sense" observations that say more about the observer than the observed to actual data:

CNN... ABC...NBC... as well as various organisations operate exit polls... they have proven to be quite accurate...but other than that it is a good question NorthernGent...I just do not know how that information is gathered.

Butch

kdsub -> RE: Do Americans feel extra responsibility? (9/5/2015 1:37:06 PM)

Yes DC historically blacks have voted democratic but never in such numbers... the record turnout and vote was because he was black....and not just once but record numbers twice.

I only mentioned blacks because if i didn't someone would have used them for an example on how that election was about a black president not the Iraqi war. The fact they voted for him is NOT meant as a put-down for doing so as some have done in the past....Their vote is perfectly understandable and even responsible on their part...Especially considering what has happened in the last year... I could imagine a different response from the DOJ if it had been a Republican President...so their vote is paying off as it should in any democracy.
