I am specifically referring to the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, aka FATCA.. The US has only one interest and that is in itself (meaning big US businesses/corps), taxing its sheeple/citizens/residents and the rest of the world be damned..

FR My perception, though, has been that Americans tend to keep themselves much better informed, and indeed generally educated about international affairs, than the citizens of other countries, precisely because they feel the weight of responsibility that they have as a result of their government having such an influence on the world stage. Is this other people's feeling, too?

Is this other people's feeling, too? really? not the Americans I have met.. perhaps you meet more high flyer American types (those few Americans that have passports).. or those whose children/family are in the military and serving overseas.. whose lives depend on what the US govt does in those countries..
