Currently in the US, there is a divide on the "Black Lives Matter" issue. And on one end, people see this campaign as racist, as All Lives Matters equally, regardless of colour. And on the other end, "Black Lives Matters" is about bringing more attention the "racism" and "unfair treatment" towards the black people, *I think* from their point of view. But...., Why couldn't they phrase it as "All Lives Matter"? Means the same thing right?

I am in the All Lives Matter camp.

In the other side of the world.

Where racism or race favourtism in national policies is legal in Malaysia and promoted by government in a Malay first rights always way, and yet the majority race is still protesting. What are they protesting about? Fear of losing their first rights status.
This joke explains it perfectly.

Obama ask me ..'what are they protesting about?'
I said defending the dignity of their race ..
Obama ask me .. what race is the Prime Minister?
I said he's a Malay ..
Obama ask .. the Deputy?
I said he's a Malay too ..
Obama ask .. the Police chief?
I said also a Malay ..
Obama ask .. the army chief?
I said also a Malay ...
Then Obama said 'what the hell are they protesting about then?'
and he banged down the phone!

This world is just amazingly crazy!

What clouds the racism issue here is the perception (real or not) that cops are out to get blacks. Blacks are represented in prison at a far greater rate than they are in the total Citizenry in the US. Is that because of targeting blacks? Is it because blacks commit more crime? I don't know that answer.

Martin O'Malley was chastised for saying, "Black lives matter. White lives matter. All lives matter."

The way to deal with racism is not give one race preferential treatment over another race. That's racism, too.

The issue is when, the reason why there are more blacks in prison because, I am sure it would be accurate to say that, there is more black people living in the poorer segments of the nation than any other races. Because they are still struggling to get out of their poverty cycle.

In every country in the world, I am sure most people in jail comes from poorer segments, because they have a harder start in life and less advantages. Perhaps also uneducated role models to follow.

I think the problem is when people choose to focus on the race, rather than, see it as a human problem. Remove the colour of the people involve and just see it as a human problem that, these segment of people need more help. That's all it is to it.

Blacks tend to have a higher percentage of their population living in lower socioeconomic standing.

Incarceration rates are highly correlated to socioeconomic standing (regardless of race).

The history books are pretty clear that the white ones were given preferential treatment for several hundred years. How do you deal with that? How do you address hundreds years of extortion? How do you make those who were deprived equal?

I don't know about all areas of the country but spend a few days in North St Louis and your question will be answered. It is not if blacks commit more crime... but why.

Myself there is no reason for crime, petty or serious...certainly not being poor and the race card is bullcrap in my opinion. If there were no free elections... if there were no legal recourse to racism... if there were not a right to protest and make your concerns heard... then yes perhaps I could understand rebellious crime... but not killing each other... robbing the old and infirm... destroying property.

There are plenty of blame to go around and a better mantra should be... We must all accept responsibility.

How do you remove the color of a person? If white people see black people as the problem how do we go about changing that. How often, on this forum, have we seen people cite the statistic that blacks are represented in prison more than they are in the general population. That is offered as proof of their position. Consider the incident in fergustan. The only part many were interested in is the part that the punk shooter was not indicted all of the ancillary data was considered irrelevant. The doj report was pretty clear when it pointed out that the city of fergustan was extorting 2 million dollars a year from the black residents of fergustan.

Yet in the free world of fergustan the cops arrest and incarcerate those who would run for city council to change the criminal behaviour of the cops.

lol you know that is bull... They have elected new councilmen and they are now making a difference. The sensible people black and white of Ferguson are stepping up and not only demanding change but have achieved it... But this says nothing of the crime, mostly black on black, in Ferguson and the surrounding area.

Butch I just posted that for you a few days ago. Remember where you offered to eat crow and I told you it was not necessary?

This was just a few days ago when the fergustan thugs with badges arrested the postal worker who had announced her candidacy and pledge to clean up the fergustan pd,and confiscated their cameras.

quote:

The sensible people black and white of Ferguson are stepping up and not only demanding change but have achieved it...

Is that why the fergustan pd is facing contemp charges because they have been told that it is not illegal for the people to film them and they keep arresting and incarcerating people for doing so./b]

It is hard not to see something wrong with BLM when so much of their stance is anti white and they call for the murder of cops. Call it what you will, it can only creat more problems. They expect cops to treat them better because they want the cops murdered? I am sure that you can see that this isn't real bright.

I am sure you can see that you are full of shit but that does not seem to stop you from posting drivel that supports your agenda. Cops have a long and notorious history of murdering black people...now that black people are shooting back it seems to offend you.

BLM isn't about killing cops, even if there are some vocal angry assholes who are calling for that, but you knew this already.

And yet when people chant for killing cops at BLM rallies not one of their leaders has denounced this and you knew that already.
