I think we the people should have a GOOD INVESTIGATION into Mr. Kevin McCathy's comments about Hillary and Benghazi. Sounds like a conspiracy using federal dollars to smear a public servant of the United States whom served the nation as Secretary of State. All to gain cheap political points with their voters. That all those 'investigations' were not about fact finding but instead, attacking Mrs. Clinton because she was leading in the polls against....ALL...the possible GOP/TP challengers for the 2016 race.

In fact, we should open a RICO case on it. Go into every location and leave no leaf unturn. We might have to look into those GOP/TP shadow superPACs. An use "Enhanced Interrogation Techniques" (e.g. waterboarding if your following along in reality), on these people. Since after all, its not torture and therefore not a violation of the 8th amendment. Anyone what to place bets on how many seconds it takes Sen. Ted Cruz, before he admits waterboarding is torture? I say not even 12 seconds!

After all, if its 'OK' to waste federal dollars on a witch hunt by the Republicans, its 'OK' for the Democrats to do it as well. Best part is, the conservatives and libertarians will not be able to bitch about it, because they 'allowed' the attacks on Hillary Clinton in the first place. In fact, they all demanded such!

Lucylastic -> RE: Liars = Republican Party (10/1/2015 6:08:07 AM)

MCCarthy wants to go ahead and do the same with planned parenthood.

Top Republican: Let’s Make Planned Parenthood The Next Benghazi

As he makes his case to become the next Speaker of the House, Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has been touting his party’s role in damaging Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s reputation by creating the House Select Committee on Benghazi. And now, he says, he wants Republicans to do the same thing to Planned Parenthood.

In two television appearances Monday night, McCarthy — one of the top contenders to replace outgoing Speaker John Boehner — suggested that the committee’s investigation into the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya was directly responsible for Clinton’s declining poll numbers. These came despite previous assertions from House Republican leaders that the investigation was a non-partisan effort “not about targeting Clinton, but finding facts” about the 2012 attack.

But in one interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, McCarthy said the select committee process worked so well at discrediting Clinton that it should also be used to build support for defunding Planned Parenthood at the federal level.
“When you look at the poll numbers of Hillary Clinton, they’ve dropped, unfavorables pretty high,” McCarthy said. “If we really want to be able to show what this Planned Parenthood has done — you see a few videos, so there’s real question — have the select committee get all the information, all the hearings, so the public can see that.”
Watch it:

Though the Benghazi Select Committee spent years and millions of taxpayer dollars investigating whether Clinton mishandled the events leading up to and following the 2012 attack, it did not find substantive evidence backing up those claims. In fact, a report commissioned by the committee disproved conspiracy theories about that night, found little evidence of negligence, and no intelligence failure on the part of the CIA.
Still, McCarthy thinks the committee had a lot to do with Clinton’s declining poll numbers. On Monday night, Fox News host Sean Hannity agreed.
“Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right? But we put together a Benghazi special committee, a select committee,” McCarthy said, speaking to Hannity. “What are her numbers today? Her numbers are dropping. Why? Because she’s untrustable. But no one would have known any of that had happened, had we not fought and made that happen.”
“I agree,” Hannity said. “That’s something good, I’ll give you credit for that.”
Now, House Republicans are trying to eliminate all federal funding for Planned Parenthood based on similarly shaky claims. The call for defunding the women’s health organization stem from sting videos released this summer, which accuse Planned Parenthood of profiting off the sale of fetal tissue from abortions. However, there has been no substantive evidence to back up that claim, and at least one state attorney general-led investigation has found no evidence of wrongdoing.
UPDATE SEP 30, 2015 4:57 PM
On Wednesday, some of McCarthy's Republican colleagues in the House sharply criticized him for suggesting that the Benghazi Committee was created to undermine Hillary Clinton, according to CNN.

CNN reported that House Republicans were privately "outraged" by the remarks, saying they raised questions about McCarthy's "gaffe-prone nature" and made them concerned about his leadership chops.

"Being a majority leader is different than being the speaker," Rep. Chris Stewart reportedly said. "There is a bigger microscope."

Now they managed to keep the doors open yesterday by voting thru a clean bill(without the PP defunding). Guaranteeing solvency until ..........December when they will try again and have threatened again a shutdown... oh and another obamacare repeal.
Spending millions and millions so they can excuse cuts to social programs.
YAY fiscal conservative assholes.

More on Planned Parenthood Video from the Missouri Attorney General.

After reviewing 3,500 pages of documentation and conducting in person interviews, the attorney general found “no evidence that [Planned Parenthood] has engaged in unlawful disposal of fetal organs or tissue.”

AG Koster finds no evidence of wrongdoing in Planned Parenthood investigation
Sep 28, 2015, 09:22 AM
-- Documents reviewed by Attorney General’s Office show Planned Parenthood handling fetal tissue in accordance with Missouri law --

Jefferson City, Mo. – Attorney General Chris Koster released a report today concluding his office’s investigation into Planned Parenthood. The office launched its investigation following the July 2015 release of videos raising questions about Planned Parenthood’s practices in other states regarding the alleged unlawful sale of fetal tissue. Koster’s investigation examined in detail the tissue-handling practices of Planned Parenthood’s Missouri surgical facility and concluded there was no evidence that the facility engaged in unlawful activity.

The investigation focused on Reproductive Health Services of Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri (PPSLR), the only abortion facility currently licensed in Missouri to perform surgical abortions. As part of its investigation, the office conducted multiple interviews with representatives from PPSLR and the pathology laboratory that examines fetal tissue for PPSLR as required by Missouri law. The office also reviewed thousands of pages of documents to inform its findings.

As part of its review, the Attorney General’s Office obtained documents for a representative 30-day period tracing the facility’s process for the disposal of fetal tissue, tracking the chain of custody from surgical procedure to incineration. The documents showed that after a procedure is complete, the tissue is placed into a leakproof, specially marked container and transported to the pathology lab for examination. When the lab completes its work, a waste-disposal company collects the tissue, takes it to the incinerator, and destroys it. Documents obtained by the Attorney General’s Office—including itemized invoices from the pathology lab charging Planned Parenthood for examination of tissue from each procedure and a certification from the disposal company verifying that the material has, in fact, been destroyed—confirm each step of this process. The investigation examined documents from all 317 separate abortions that occurred during the audited period, tracing each procedure from Planned Parenthood to the incinerator.

“The evidence reviewed by my investigators supports Planned Parenthood’s representation that fetal tissue is handled in accordance with Missouri law,” Koster said. “We have discovered no evidence whatsoever to suggest that Planned Parenthood’s St. Louis facility is selling fetal tissue.”

PROVE IT.

The AG had already concluded no wrong doing had taken place. Months ago. Why is a political football now? Because the organization trying to make it one are the ones without an ounce of decency or honor to their mindset. If the AG states no wrong doing, why is action still taking place on it? Only reason: political points.

Your party is the 'Party of Liars'. They are wasting....YOUR MONEY...BamaD. And you keep defending them. An you do not have ANY evidence that supports this issue as anything but a politically motivated smear campaign. The GOP/TP didnt have anyone that was a fair challenger to Mrs. Clinton a few months ago when this all started. Why couldn't the GOP/TP run someone in a fair election, BamaD?

That would imply they are honorable people. With INTEGRITY!

The evidence is piling up that shows the GOP/TP is anything but honorable.

mnottertail -> RE: Liars = Republican Party (10/1/2015 1:50:07 PM)

And that does not even include all the nutsucker states AGs that could find no wrongdoing.

It wasnt done at the fed, it wasnt done at the state, where was the wrongdoing done?

AHA!!!!! Benghazi!!!!!

Just a word to the dumb and clueless, this was the AG of missouri, that made the statement. Findings in five other states have said the same.
This one was just announced.

bama---ive not read the pages prior to this one so I may be missing some context here---but as best i can tell, that quote is specific only to the st. Louis planned parenthood.

and to that point:

quote:

Sen. Kurt Schaefer, R-Columbia, who is leading a separate investigation of Planned Parenthood's practices in Missouri, was among those who criticized the report, noting that it does not provide verifiable accounting of whether all remains are sent from Planned Parenthood to the pathology lab. The Senate Interim Committee on the Sanctity of Life is expected to submit a report of its findings to the General Assembly by Dec. 1.

"Attorney General Koster's investigation appears to be an incomplete review of documents that fails to fully and completely address the questions and concerns of the General Assembly and many other Missouri citizens as they relate to Planned Parenthood," Schaefer stated. "The Missouri Senate Committee on the Sanctity of Life's in-depth investigation and hearings will continue and extend beyond a review of documents until sufficient answers are received."

Missouri law only requires abortion clinics to send a "representative sample" for pathological examination. The operations director at Pathology Services Inc. previously told the Review she believes the lab receives all tissue from each abortion, but the lab has no way of accounting for this....

The report also doesn't answer the question of why St. Louis is considered an untapped market for fetal body parts, which Dr. Deborah Nucatola, senior director of Planned Parenthood Federation of America's Medical Services Department, said in one of the undercover videos.

Regardless of whether Planned Parenthood's actions were legal, the disclosures raise a completely separate question of whether a majority of Americans think they should be.

"Poll: After Seeing Videos of Planned Parenthood Selling Aborted Babies, Americans Say De-Fund It"

http://www.lifenews.com/2015/08/19/poll-after-seeing-videos-of-planned-parenthood-selling-aborted-babies-americans-say-de-fund-it/

quote:

A new national poll shows that the more Americans are familiar with the shocking videos showing the Planned Parenthood abortion business selling aborted babies and their body parts, the more likely they are to support de-funding the abortion company.

The results of the poll come on the same day the organization that has released six videos exposing the scandal of Planned Parenthood selling aborted babies and their body parts released a new undercover video that catches the nation’s biggest abortion business harvesting the brain of an aborted baby who was still alive.

"7th Shocking Video Catches Planned Parenthood Harvesting Brain of Aborted Baby Who Was Still Alive"

likely what carly Fiorina was referencing in the most recent "debate."

quote:

The organization that has released six videos exposing the scandal of Planned Parenthood selling aborted babies and their body parts has released a new undercover video today with another shocking discovery. This latest video catches the nation’s biggest abortion business harvesting the brain of an aborted baby who was still alive...

The new video includes O’Donnell’s eyewitness narrative of the daily practice of fetal body parts harvesting in Planned Parenthood abortion clinics. She tells the harrowing story of harvesting an intact brain from a late-term male unborn baby whose heart was still beating after the abortion...

O’Donnell also tells how her StemExpress supervisor instructed her to cut through the face of the fetus in order to get the brain.

“I can’t even describe what that feels like,” she says.

Lucylastic -> RE: Liars = Republican Party (10/2/2015 6:39:41 AM)

http://www.politico.com/story/2015/08/new-planned-parenthood-video-released-holly-odonnell-121521

The seventh in the string of videos from the Center for Medical Progress released Wednesday again features a tissue procurement technician, this time explaining how she obtained a brain from an aborted fetus.
Holly O’Donnell, a former StemExpress technician who appeared in other videos from the anti-abortion group, claims the fetus’s heart began to beat when another technician tapped it. That could have been a short-lived spontaneous reaction of the heart muscle.
Story Continued Below

There is nothing in the video — which includes footage from older tapes — to support O’Donnell’s claims.
StemExpress and Planned Parenthood have denied any wrongdoing in its handling of fetal tissue and organs and say that the videos are misleadingly edited. StemExpress, a biomedical tissue procurement company, has explicitly denied ever receiving an intact fetus, and both organizations say they handled fetal tissue donations only with patients’ permission.

bounty44 -> RE: Liars = Republican Party (10/2/2015 7:25:54 AM)

for an interesting conversation on the state of affairs:

"Two Decades of Gallup Polls Show Majority of Americans Want Abortion To Be Illegal in Most Cases"

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/06/03/two-decades-of-gallup-polls-show-majority-of-americans-want-abortion-to-be-illegal-in-most-cases/

quote:

“In the past 20 years, the percentage who say abortion should be illegal in all circumstances or all but a few circumstances has never dropped below 54 percent,” writes Terence P. Jeffrey at CNS News.com...
The poll specifically found that 29 percent of respondents said abortion should be legal “under any circumstances,” and 13 percent “under most circumstances.” However, 36 percent responded that abortion should be “legal only in a few circumstances,” and 19 percent said it should be illegal “in all circumstances,” totaling 55 percent believing abortion should be illegal in all, or all but a few, circumstances...

and more to the point of my using the word earlier "increasingly" pro life:
quote:

In September of 1995, 56 percent of participants described themselves as pro-choice and 33 percent as pro-life, while in the latest survey, 50 percent say they are pro-choice and 44 percent pro-life.

but this is interesting too:
quote:

The labels of “pro-life” and “pro-choice,” however, may not be aptly describing Americans’ beliefs about abortion.

In the most recent poll results, on which Gallup’s headline – “Americans Choose ‘Pro-Choice’ For First Time in Seven Years” – was based, 27 percent of “pro-choice” individuals say abortion should be mostly illegal, while only 9 percent of “pro-life” people say it should be mostly legal....

this sum things also (same material as above):

http://www.lifenews.com/2015/05/29/gallup-poll-54-of-americans-want-all-or-most-abortions-made-illegal/
quote:

Today’s poll is consistent with other Gallup surveys, such as its 2013 poll showing 58% of Americans opposed all or most abortions.

Other polling data confirms that, even when a majority of Americans call themselves “pro-choice” on abortion, they strongly support limits on abortions...

“In 2015, 34% of Americans say they are satisfied with current U.S. abortion policies. This is the lowest percentage since Gallup first asked the question in 2001,” Gallup noted.
