I see this the opposite way. If they did not send a message, that is one less incompatible person I have to deal with.

Every once in a while, I will write, about an amazing photo, though. That has garnered me some fun conversations and friends around the world.

I have to say I'm always curious about who views my profile.

Don't think a view without a message is good or bad. Often it is someone from the Boards who can "speak" to me here if they want. I will also be intrigued to look at someone's profile but not send a message for all sorts of reasons. Sometimes a "no message" is due compatibility but that includes where I suspect that even a well worded message might be taken the wrong way.

If someone says something interesting here, I'm not going to hide the fact that I looked at their profile to learn some more, even if I don't send them a message. Some people clearly do hide this. Why?

Status: offline 		I think women catfish here too. Not asking for money, but wanting to escape their dull or sad life. Praying on a mans emotions. I am a female, but I know someone that is getting catfished. He is an older man. He doesn't understand what it means.

You'd be surprised how true this is. I sometimes enjoy reading some of the ridiculousness that gets spewed in profiles. It almost always results in receiving an email and then it just goes south when I tell them that I'm not interested and not looking.

If you need a list to tell you which profiles are fake and scammers, you're going to get scammed anyway eventually, so don't worry about it.

exactly and if support has no interest than like "wild wild West , here we go!" this is the internet... chat all you want but never believe anything someone says. If you meet someone realtime from a contact started here be careful pick a very public site with plenty of surveillance camera's....

Status: offline 		What do you consider a fake? Some will call a person a fake for no reason except the "fake" is not interested in the other person. Or because the "fake" will not send a picture or cam or..................after getting the first email. Been here over 10 years with a different name then this one. Only once did I get a email from what must of been a scammer. Some is called a fake for changng the mind about wanting to keep talking and maybe meet. If the person I am talking to will not accept that I will not do or allow something then I stop contact. Will not be able to trust him.

Hadn't really thought about it that way. I assume that someone looking at my profile is just looking, and not that they want to speak to me. Indeed my normal assumption is that someone looked at my profile because they thought something I said was particularly wrong/stupid/objectionable.

I certainly don't view it as an invitation, although I can see that those born to eternally pester and stalk would see things quite differently.

My personal favourite is the profile warning you not to read the profile without sending a message, sometimes on pain of being blocked. Ooops, too late then.

People go apeshit if you look at their profile but don't message. At best, they accuse you of window shopping, and at worst threaten to cut your boobs off with a rusty knife.
