Some people use this useless option as a way of insulting the sender, so pathetic, because the recipient in fact has read the entire message by hovering the mouse over the message ,but the sender will receive the deleted unread notification , could the option of reading a message without opening it be deactivated from this website so when a recipient delete a message without reading it will be true?.
Being that you are using this site, it is presumed you are an adult. As an adult you need to have developed the psychological tools to handle rejection. If you have not, you might want to work on those issues before being present on a site such as this.
