The thread should be renamed from "Serious Question" to "In my Opinion" as the OP did not want to hear many of the answers given.

No. the question is fine. what I am asking your opinion and ONLY your opinion, so if your answer comes as " your opinion " , I happen to respect everybody's opinion. but IF you answer is irrational, or might sound like you were teaching me something I did not know or ( you might not have fully understood the question at all ) then I may need to introduce you to more details about the question and why did I ask that specific question.

Ummm... Yeah.
NO ONE has been asshole enough to walk up to me in a vanilla setting and blather some question about if I was into BDSM. If someone's social skills suck that damn bad and they don't have the sense that God gave a turnip, my ignoring them is probably the least of their worries.

I dress completely incognito, infact, unless I am with a date, I dress to be invisible, blend in, and not be noticed. So I will probably never have a chance to experience someone asking me if I was into bdsm.

But..., I'm really puzzled as to why would it be an asshole thing to do? I mean, we are all into bdsm. It's like, if someone ask me if I was into inline skating, I am not gonna get offended, because I am into inline skating. Why the offense especially when it's true? Especially if someone like Joker is probably not asking in a derogatory manner because his into bdsm himself.

I mean, surely the tone and intention plays a bigger part?

I'm just puzzled as to, why is it offensive for someone to judge you by what you wear that you are into bdsm when it turn out to be true. Perhaps if he ask a vanilla girl who doesn't understand bdsm, and she might think it's disgusting and she would be offended, I could understand that. But all of us love bdsm! It's one of our loves.

excuse me greta to ask you this question here instead of starting a thread about it that will turn as always into a circus.
you mentioned something in your profile about "comprehension problems". briefly, how do you define miscomprehension. not in terminology but as an existent obstruction. in my opinion, when comprehension( as in agreement here ) is not met, it is because two things are moving in different directions or operating not on the same wave length.

Whether or not it is "one of our loves", I would hope that even you might be able to understand why being approached by some random with no social skills about a sexual topic might be creepy and inappropriate.

Unless you are someone who believes that our love of BDSM is so magical that it eschews common social sense.

True enough. Considering the befuddlement of the individuals on that side of the argument, common sense doesn't appear to be present in measurable quantities.

Well, first of all, I didn't report anybody.

Here's the difference between a personal attack and a general statement:

If I write a post and direct it to a specific person, such as "<insert poster's name> is an asshole," or say to a specific poster "you are an asshole," that's a personal attack. There's got to be a proper noun or a pronoun in there.

If I write a post and say "if some asshole walked up to me and..." That is a general comment. I'm not specifying who I think is the asshole. It could be any random asshole that crossed my path and did stupid thing X. However, I am refraining from specifying the asshole.

While there are certain words that are frowned up on the forums, unless something has changed, the word "asshole," in and of itself is not on the terms you can't use list. I think the N-word is probably still on it and a few other choice terms.

However, if I was going to take a guess, I'd be going with busted for changing people's screen name's into personal insults. Believe it or not, it really does pay off sometimes to read the ToS and the forum rules. I had a feeling this emoji was going to come in handy.

dont play the innocent stupid here. everyone knows insults can be inflicted in many different ways and forms.
an insult is an insult as the way it is received, whether it was direct, indirect or in some cases not intented however it classifies as an insult. anyway looking at the high priority my last post was handled, and the very fast response from the Mods over a word ( you, the knowledgeable of the TOS testified it is not in the filtred list of offensive words even tho i am being moderated over using it) tells me there is some sort of ____ favoritism______ going on here. I dont kiss ass, i'd rather go create another ID and start posting as usual. and if a Mod is expecting ME to kiss his/her ass in order to post on this message board, then they they are barking the fucking wrong tree. I kick ass I dont kiss ass. and the taxes I pay to the IRS every year is TRICE what do trolls and Mods pay combined.
BTW the only manual I read is the one that puts money in my pockets...........

So you're upset that the *trolls* and Mods pay a lot less tax than you? Perhaps if you ask nicely they'll recommend a better accountant for you.

no, I did not say I pay too much tax, this 'd be a general statement but what i meant was I pay more taxes than the trolls and the Mods do, in term of comparaison only.

It's what I got from your message. If that's not what you intended to say then perhaps increasing the clarity of your messages would be beneficial.

I'd have to invite you to have a look at how many times I have used the word "asshole". You don't really think that one post is the only time I've used the word in the last eight and a half years and I'm certainly not the only person who has had posts remain that contained it. Don't believe me? Try it for yourself. Enter the word "asshole" into the search feature and see just how many authors of posts that are still standing. You're going to get three hundred random hits.

The insult thing doesn't work like that either. Forum Mods are the arbitrators of whether something is a personal insult or not. Give that a shot, too. A Mod will read the ticket, thank you for the report, and then come to a determination. If they don't find something to be a violation, they will leave the post alone. If they do, they can edit it, pull the post, or handle it in the manner that they see is best.

If a Mod specifically sent you a little gold email specifying that the word can not be used, rather than the way you used it, then it's the word that's the problem. I find it highly unlikely since there's a fifteen page thread in another section that contains the word "asshole" several times. Feel free to argue your case with them.

Favoritism? I highly doubt it. I don't want to venture to guess what New Mod thinks of me but I'm not counting on it being favorable. At the same time, not breaking forum rules, so I'm relatively sure I'm not bugging them too much.

However, posting from multiple accounts in the same thread is generally a no-no and posting from other accounts when one account is moderated is going to tick somebody off. I don't know if it still works the same way now, but when folks used to get a time out, they sent a very specific gold note that included something like "any attempts to circumvent moderation with result in X". Sooner or later, I'm guessing New Mod is going to get sick of the BS and just moderate all of the neat little sock puppets to try to prevent that. Of course, more will get created, more work will be involved, and at some point they will take care of the problem in their own special way.

Of course, if the validity of any of these point is doubted, there is always the option of writing New Mod at Support. (This is something kinky people call throwing someone under the bus.) I'm sure New Mod will correct any inconsistencies or mistakes that I have made and in a very professional manner explain any of it that you don't understand. Please enjoy talking to New Mod about these matters to the heart's content.

Your message is confused and open to interpretation on many different levels.

If you cannot write with clarity then be prepared for people to infer something that you did not expect.

Ok Bunnicula. I will explain. Bunnicula: just please dont upset me, i know you are a nice woman and not a troll for sure. comparaison is relative, it only suggest the value of something compared to another. like you are taller than stef and nicer but shorter than me.
so when I say I spend more money than someone else you cannot determine how much do i really spend, it is not measurable on any scale other than the comparaison . lets say the person i spend more money than he does, He spends 1000 pounds a month, and I spend 3000 pounds. this does not make the 3000 pounds I spend a general statement that i spend too much money.
