I think sometimes we do need to challenge "general views" - if that wouldn't have happened time and time again, we still would have no social system but child labour and a feudal system, etc.

My whole issue is that if the country isn't too proud to take the tax of somebody doing a job that isn't illegal, it IS hypocritical to treat the person any different than another person and as morally inferior - wouldn't that mean that the country taking that "immoral tax" is guilty by simply taxing or making something legal that they feel so strongly about?

Taxing a legitimate occupation has nothing to do with whether that particular occupation is viewed as diametrically opposed on moral grounds with another.
It all hinges on perceived societal outlooks.
The tax man don't give a shit on morality.
If it's legal and can be taxed, they will.
If you feel it's hypocritical to tax one occupation that doesn't fit morally with another, that would be your PoV.

As a Pagan, I find it wholly abhorrent that religious organizations are generally tax exempt and yet some of the members of some religions want to kill people and generally destroy the very fabric of our society.
But the laws are what they are and I don't see them changing any time soon or in my lifetime.

I regularly get pissed off when people on benefits are labelled "scroungers" and big corporations get away with trillions in tax evasion, I could take the approach that nothing will ever change, or I can try to actually change something, use my vote and support political parties that are against such a travesty.

As for religious organisations being tax exempt, well, I hope that it is going to change, I don't have kids and don't think I will ever have them, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't try to do what is right for the generations to follow, if others wouldn't have done that, I possibly would still not have the same rights as a guy in the eyes of the law, since I benefit from what others have done before my life-time, it only seems to be fair to continue in that vein and not just accept something because it's been like that for a long time.

A "concerned" local person felt like he should inform me (I already knew) so I asked him sweetly how he managed to get the info and if he tipped her for the table dance, result he blushed bright red and ever since avoids me.

I LOL-ed so hard at this.

I find it laughable that a Miami cop is being terminated over doing porn. There's much worse going on within the precincts.

If it's against the contract she signed, I understand.

As for the concerned guy, I might have been taken a bit by surprise if she hadn't told me, but since she was honest about it, really no big deal, she's fabulous chasing me up on sending out my invoices and relentless when it comes to my receipts, things that tend to slip my mind and as an additional bonus, she sometimes talks about her weekend job and has me in stitches. Oh and I had previously used a travel agency to book my flights, they really messed up and I lost my frequent flyer miles for 3 trips from the UK to the West Coast as they weren't aware that they booked me with airlines that weren't part of the 2 frequent flyer programs I'm with - doesn't happen with Rach. I'd be the biggest idiot on the planet if I would get uptight about her weekend occupation and she's happy to have a part time job where it doesn't matter when she does the job as long as we meet all the deadlines.

In fact, she almost ripped me a new one when I booked a flight myself and used my private card instead of my business credit card
