I could not care less who is a sock puppet and who is not. If I address a post of yours it is the post I am addressing so it makes no difference what name you are using. In fact i think people are more honest in their posts when using a puppet... it is the real person speaking without inhibitions. Butch

First... for me... a thread and a post has to have merit or i don't pay any attention to it... If it does have merit or interest... I do not care who is posting it. If the poster calls themselves by more than one name it does not change the idea and intent of the post. I also don't care who agrees or disagrees with me so if someone is posting to support or harass under more than one name they are wasting their time. If what I have to say changes a mind...great... but I don't need to know or keep score. The person posting as a sock is still true to themselves in their posts even if they are hiding their true identity in the thread. Lets just say LadyPact that you post as a sock under the name Mod3...;-)... it is still you and still an honest post even if you are hiding your identity...I would answer to your post in the same way no matter which name you used if it had merit or interest. Butch

Butch But what is LP were posting as Mod3, in addition to LP, and began a discussion in which her Mod3 sock was at odds with LP, and they engaged with each other on the same thread. Then LP comes in under a 3rd sock to throw another wrench in the gears. She can't be her true self and be these three conflicting personalities as well.

What difference would it make to you? Would you change your mind or position on an opposing post because a sock or others opposed that persons view and harassed them... I wouldn't. I would just ignore them, him or her, and only address those who hold my interest. Butch

Sock Puppetry has been the down-fall of this site for quite some time, now ... years, really. I think the policy was forever changed (even if only de facto ) by the indulgence of about two years back when one of the most prolific/annoying of the sock puppeteers was given voice; even after they were found out. I don't know that sock puppetry is necessarily inconsistent, however since, by fiat of the site, moderators are enshrined as sock puppets (alternate, secret ID for a pre-existing user). Michael

How do you go about reporting the legitimate comments of so called sock puppets? Freedom of speech is guaranteed in most civilised nations. Trying to get someone banned because you do not like what they write is contrary to human rights and unconstititional and so criminal. The website could be prosecuted also. Cease the persecution and labelling of writings you do not like!

It's called litigation. The website owner does now want many lawsuits for discrimination. Some of YouTube belt perverse bigots were reporting anyonw you did like the legitimate Comments of and Denying free speech a constitutional legal right that you attempted often to usurp.

~FR~ I tend to ignore those I suspect of being suck puppets. There are a couple or ten profiles on here that are clearly sock puppets or are too dumb for me to want them to live. However, I will respond to them if it amuses me or if I think they'll make themselves look even more dumb, sad and pathetic than they currently are. People who hide behind fake profiles are generally sad, lonely, pathetic facsmiles of humanity. Part of me pities them. Most of me dismisses them as being pointless wastes of oxygen.
