Some people are frustrated that the tragedy in Paris is diverting attention away from their complaints...

Mizzou Protesters Upset That Paris Attacks Have Taken Their Spotlight
#BlackLivesMatter Supporters Start #FuckParis Hashtag, Say Attention Is On Paris Because It’s A ‘White Tragedy’

Apparently one group thought they had a solution to the problem....

A group of Black Lives Matter protestors at Dartmouth College led a violent protest Thursday, hurling racial insults at students and pushing them up against a wall as they tried to study in the library, The Dartmouth Review reports. “Fuck you, you filthy white fucks!” “Fuck you and your comfort!” “Fuck you, you racist shit!” they reportedly yelled.

About a 150 Dartmouth protesters shouted as they marched through Baker-Berry Library at Dartmouth College. Students who didn’t join in on their protests were harassed, one woman was pinned to a wall by protesters who shouted, “filthy white bitch!” in her face. Students who were seated were told to, “Stand the fuck up!” “You filthy racist white piece of shit!”
~Source

It would seem to me that "privilege" is being able to pull this kind of shit without getting your ass arrested, but a protester at Columbia pointed out what really defines "privilege":

"Look at those guys playing Frisbee — that is the definition of privilege," said one speaker. ~Source

But alas, all to not much success. I wonder what Plan B will be.

I read the link and its appalling but then I read the comments from white Americans and many of the retorts were equally racist. I'm neither black or American but if I was American I sure wouldn't' want to be black.

No one going to Dartmouth or Columbia has any room to talk about privilage.

I forgot that WZ allows comments. Ghostery blocks them. But disabling the plug-in for a look, yeah, "equally racist" works for me. I don't know what kind of holes some of these people crawl out of, black and white alike. But as for America, I went to high school and college with blacks, worked with them my entire life in various capacities, lived with them as neighbors in three different states, count the ones I know among my friends, and I've rarely seen anything like this kind of shit from either side.

Unfortunately I have seen this garbage from both blacks and whites.

I remember my junior year at unversity. I was just a few years back from viet nam and was deeply involved in the anti-war-movement. Some group or another had proclaimed a general strike as part of an anti-war protest. They were going from classroom to classroom barging in and screaming at the students who had ignored the call for a general strike. I was about three rows from the door when they came in. It took me a few seconds to hurle my desk at them then another and another...they left before I could chuck a fourth. Class resumed with no further interruption. While I applaud their fervor I was less than pleased with their method and timing. I was on the gi bill and university of california isn't cheap even for residents. I believe there is a time and a place for everything. The nature of young people at university is one of exploration of their abilities and limitations. In my time at school this sort of thing was common enough not to be uncommon. After they vacated I picked up my mess and class resumed no one not even the instructor said a word to me about my use of force. Dr. c just picked up his lecture at the point where he had been interupted. This was an extremely important class for me as the professor was on sabatical and had made a special arrangement with the regents to teach this one class. The professor and the class were unique. He had known fracisco franco personally and had fallen into disfavor and had to leave spain rather hastily. So his singular knowledge of the subject was unique and chances of my ever having this opportunity again were non existant. Would I have done the same thing if they had interrupted my calculus class???

well,.. most people tend to be much more PC and less visibly racist in public, but imo, their true colors come out online... just cuz you didnt see it, doesnt mean it wasnt bubbling away under the facade..

One person's common sense is another's racism... if we can't talk honestly about each other nothing will ever change. Blacks have no problem talking honestly about whites... but let a white person try talking honestly about blacks and YOU ARE RACIST.

There are plenty of problems...and attitudes...and racism to go around... being politically correct just makes honest discussion fake and useless.

The only people I notice whining about p.c. are the ones who are made to feel uncomfortable by their peers when they use racial slurs in public.

You only complain about PC if you are not prepared to back up your words with honesty. Being honest will not, of course, make you immune to racism but it does let people know where you stand and your reasons for your position. I may be right, wrong, or somewhere in the middle but you can depend on my honesty.

You have not been honest in regards to the doj report on the thugs of furgistan? The only thing you care about the doj reports is the fact that the punk copper was not indicted. Where is your outrage at the criminal behaviour of the cops, the city council, the city manager and the courts?

Ignorant bigots are using hate as their honesty.

those attitudes and true and honest comments i read online (about blacks, hispanics, immigrants, etc) have been a big factor in why i have no stomach for this country.. and while i know not all Americans hold those views, imo, there are just too many that do..

lol... I even quoted the report and you refused to believe it... don't give me the Ferguson crap... As for the rest... letting the people decide, which they did in an election, is the only true honest way to govern... you don't like the result... move here and join in the politics.. Otherwise you have nothing to say about the choices of the people...never stopped you before though.

At least you know who they are...but hate is not necessarily bad... it is a human emotion we all have. There is much in this world I hate... how about you?

What you hear in this country is no different than what you hear anywhere... at least in my experience...we are no better or worse...I really do believe that we...meaning the US... are for more likely than most to speak our minds... I personally think this is a good thing.

Just notice on the world scale how we are often looked down upon by Europe because of our honest world views... then when tragedy strikes you end up doing exactly what you disparaged us about. We see the hypocrisy but understand.

There is no denying that....but remember... you should not condemn all Republicans and conservatives because of the actions of a tiny radical minority...
