I would call the effort to exterminate the American Indians, greed on the white mans part more than a religious war. america was following it's so-called 'manifest destiny' wasn't it ? Which seemed to mean that anything anybody else had that proved to be worth anything, automatically belonged to the white americans ?? Beginning with their ancestral lands and working outward from there.

Actually it was the Europeans who came over and started exterminating them to colonize the new land. This wasn't america until after they had gotten a good foothold here and decided to call it that. Now after that we certainly carried on the tradition, but we didn't start it. Funny that no one ever mentions that part. But I totally agree that a lot of it was down to greed.

Your geography is as good as your history........ its shit.

In that case why don't you enlighten us. If it wasn't the Europeans who came over and settled the new land then who was it? And if it wasn't the settlers who continued the tradition of wiping out the Indians, who did? I can hardly wait to hear how my teachers have had it wrong all this time.

Daesh is the derogatory word for ISIS. They get pissed off when they people refer to them as that. That's why it's the new word introduced.

Well done for reminding us all that it was people from other countries who established the nation that later came to be called 'America', THB.

In that case, maybe we should refer to them as Daesh-bags.

Lol! Sounds like Daesh translates to Bigots. So their Arabic Acronyms translate to bigot in their language, so funny!

According to Arabic translator Alice Guthrie, "D.A.E.SH is a transliteration of the Arabic acronym formed of the same words that make up I.S.I.S in English: 'Islamic State in Iraq and Syria', or 'al-dowla al-islaamiyya fii-il-i'raaq wa-ash-shaam'."

Depending on how it is conjugated in Arabic, the word can mean "to trample down and crush." But it can also mean "a bigot." ISIS has reportedly threatened to cut out the tongues of anyone it hears using the term.

"It's a derogatory term and not something people should use even if you dislike them," said Evan Kohlmann, a national security analyst at Flashpoint and a contributor to NBC News. "It would be like referring to Germans as 'Huns.'"

So, even if we go with your idea that we went to war with Native Americans for religious reasons (I disagree, but I"ll play along for argument's sake), that puts the last time a "Christian" nation attacked a non-Christian nation over religious reasons well over 100 years ago, agreed? Now, consider the changes in society that have occurred since. Islamic countries have been invading and attacking other countries (the majority of which are also Islamic) over religious reasons (different interpretations of the same set of holy scriptures).

Christianity has changed from barbaric actions of the past. Islam needs to do the same.

People who fight for the freedom of Islam are fighting for the imprisonment of people in Islam.

That's the craziest batshit part. Especially to see the left defend their religion so much!

I don't know any christian country today that gives death penalty to people who converts out of Christianity. At least most Christians have the freedom to leave and choose their religion in this modern day. Unless you are part of the Lord's Army or something, then maybe that group might chop your head off, but it is an African Christian terrorist group. With Muslims, it's their moderate Muslim government doing it to them, on top of the extremist ones.

And we support that and call it the Religion of Peace.

It's just mind boggling to me, people from the west, who supports freedom of religion, supports the one religion who is against freedom.

A huge percentage of that 1.6 billion people who does not have the luxury to live in the west, may not have the choice to leave Islam. This is what bothers me the most about this religion.

yes there is so much diversity in islam that like Christianity there is no one way the vast majority of Muslims like most other religions dot give a rats backside about any other persons religion its the far right and left that use violence to get their views known. and yes countries that are run by the church have had a bad habit of cruelty to those that want or have a different view. these theocracy based governments always have the best intentions but sadly end the same with purification of its followers and cleansing of the non devout.
a wise person once said what you seek you will find. if you seek in the Koran a path of peace and acceptance that you will find the same for hate and violence. I do not condem the entire religion just those that use fear and violence in its name. irans current governing body was done to stop the former regime from doing the same things it is doing now.
so I oppose the ones who hide their faces and use guns and violence not the flag they say they are following

By the time germ warfare was being used against the native americans THB, the people using that method of extermination were firmly americans.

Yes I think I agree with you DS, there hasn't been a christian invasion as such for a number of years now, unless you can call that shit-fight in the Balkans a few years back, a christian war. I dunno, I was lucky enough not to be there. I know the muslims were getting murdered wholesale but what religion the killers were is a mystery to me I'm ashamed to admit.

I can't agree that the Nazis as a whole were catholics...................there were a number of religions in that cess pit and a number of Nazis were either non-religious or actively anti-religious too. By the time the war started, the german churches were just another rubber stamp for the Nazis on the whole.

And even if many Nazis were nominal Catholics that doesn't in any way mean that the Catholic church was behind the Nazis.

The exact nature of the relationship between the Nazis, other assorted Fascists, and the Catholic Church is a matter of ongoing controversy among historians of the era.

In view of this, blanket statements such as that bolded above (regardless of whether they exonerate or further implicate the Church) would seem to be a tad premature and as such ought to be disregarded.

So, even if we go with your idea that we went to war with Native Americans for religious reasons (I disagree, but I"ll play along for argument's sake),

Play along???? How does one discuss a topic when you admit up front that you are just playing with yourself and not really interested in a discussion?

that puts the last time a "Christian" nation attacked a non-Christian nation over religious reasons well over 100 years ago, agreed?

No..not agreed. When were native americans made citizens of the usa?

Now, consider the changes in society that have occurred since.

Would you be so kind as to deliniate just what those changes might be vis-a-vis native americans?

Islamic countries have been invading and attacking other countries (the majority of which are also Islamic) over religious reasons (different interpretations of the same set of holy scriptures).

Christianity has changed from barbaric actions of the past.

In what way?

Islam needs to do the same.

Where do you get off deciding what another religion must do? Would it be ok for them to say the same about christianity? Or has your imaginary friend chosen you to be the boss???
