What does the legitimacy of jesus have to do defending oneself against an invader.
If the kids don't fight and you loose then what happens to the kids?

You seem to have no qualms about letting cops rape your daughter but object to arming her to defend our country??? why is that?

I'd close any christian church who teaches terrorism too! I mean there is alot of source in the old testament to be drawn from. But it does seems that most christians choose to ignore the old testament and just follow Jesus. Generally, Jesus didn't kill people. So it's kinda like a safer prophet to follow than Muhammad who have advocated killing those who did not bend to his beliefs.

Now Jesus exists in the freaking Quran as Prophet spreading Allah's words too, I don't know why no Muslims want to follow him and choose to do Muhammad instead. I mean sure he is the last and final prophet, seem to be the most updated prophet I guess. But since all of them prophets are spreading the same God's word. They should've chosen Jesus instead. Another minus points to Muslims for making a damn bad decision in role model of choice.

To be an ACTUAL Christian, one would advocate higher taxes to be spend on the elderly, the poor, the injuries, the ill, the homeless, and those most vulnerable in society. Notice how many Republican and Tea Party candidates state they are christian and want to remove such resources? Those people are pseudo christian. They ignore whole parts of the Holy Bible, because its inconvenient to their political viewpoints.

The problem with religion today is its out of date as a concept. Religion seems more about hatred, intolerance, and ignorance than building a good society. Compared to scientists, how many new discoveries have these religious people made that push humanity forward? Nothing! When looking for a cure for cancer, does one go to a holy man or a medical doctor?

There are no religious scientists or researchers? Where did you hallucinate that?

Holy men are effective in about 22% of breast cancer cases. Just sayin'.

how on earth are you so clueless when it comes to what an "ACTUAL Christian" would do? and you continue to show that cluelessness when you talk about the bible also.

then, as I have always thought and you continue to show, you know really know nothing about religion, or for that matter, for all your cerebral chest thumping about it, science...not to mention "thinking."

and since you will struggle to understand that last point, i'll help you: "when looking for a cure for cancer..." does not follow from your aforementioned of "pushing humanity forward", medical advances just being one aspect of progress. that's like me making a point say "whom do you see when you are seeking counseling about cheating wife", a pastor or your dentist? get a grip.

and when you are laying in bed at night contemplating your own death, or deep personal questions as to the nature and meaning of life, or what happens to us when we die, make sure to call the guy down the street who does pharmaceutical research, im sure he'll be able to help you.

I'm agnostic/atheist and I actually advocate that, I think it's called human decency

if you are referring to the "higher taxes" no, all it is, is substituting government for personal responsibility and duty towards those less fortunate or in need of help---that is human decency.

go look among "the elderly, the poor, the injured, the ill, and the homeless" here, and worldwide, and you will invariably find Christians working amongst them, and overwhelmingly Christian charity devoted to alleviating their suffering.

small note to comrade birdbrain---if you cant even be observant enough to see that, or decent enough to admit it, you are even more contemptible than I thought.

It is the rate of spontaneous remission in breast cancer and some other small tumors.

Hardly a cite showing the holy men were responsible, let alone which of the myriad of religions they belong to.

The interesting thing about cancer is, there are many cases where someone went from 90% cancer spread with no cure, to miraculously recovering, even WITHOUT religious healing.

Because from everything I understand about cancer, it's an evolving thing. It never leaves your body. It simply evolves to something else that stop causing harm. And usually finding cures involves trying to trigger it's evolution to something non-harmful to your body. It never eradicates it.

So miraculous cures are so common in cancer because it's still a very least understood micro-organism and what makes it tick.

Unless it's chemo or radiation therapy, which literally kills the cancer cells, although it's not always 100% perfect of course.
