Google can be your friend. If you really want to understand why some blacks feel that reparations are approptiate it would not be difficult to find.

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Unreasonable? (12/30/2015 6:57:55 PM)

It's also not difficult to find other opinions that say they deserve nothing of the sort though and even other opinions from some blacks to draw a line under it and get on with living the lives they have.

Do you believe that children should inherit from their ancestors? If you do then why do you not feel that the decendents of slaves should inherit what was stolen from their ancestors?

So we should put them back in huts, at the mercy of tribal chieftans, without medicine or hope for improvement.

Isn't that where they are now?

No, it isn't where they are.

Obviously you have never been to furgistan.

Really? Black people are living in huts in Ferguson? Show me a picture. They're going to tribal medicine men instead of doctors? Show me a picture.

Ebony0330 -> RE: Unreasonable? (12/30/2015 7:49:02 PM)

What was taken away was NOT just monetary... most people are under that huge and pitiful delusion. A whole culture was stolen religions and beliefs whipped away, family structure torn apart, a warped imprisoned mentality past down as if it were melted and became embedded in the dna. When people search for monetary gains for wrongs done to their ancestors that trickled down to them... it may be because it is the only thing that can be given. If someone takes me from a hut, moves me into a mansion forces to work from sun up to sun down and live in conditions not even fit for a dog, force me to believe in their God and that their God states in their bible that being a slave is what we were meant to be and we must not want freedom, take my husband from me forcefully, my children, my sister my brother, beat me... hang my friend and light them on fire for wanting freedom, beat me into compliance so that he or a black stud can fuck me so that i can become pregnant with more children who will be taken away from me all the while having to nurse from my breast their babies, deny me my education, kill me when i became no longer useful. I would HOPE that my legacies would fight for reparations for every hour i was forced to be somewhere where i did not want to be.

However, in reality, the Ancient civilisations of Egypt, Ghana and Mali among others – some of which grew over 5000 years ago – made enormous discoveries in science, medicine, astronomy, mathematics, philosophy, and architecture long before they were known in Europe. Africans had crossed oceans by the time Europeans made their first journey to Africa and some of the European visitors to Africa recognised that societies were just as advanced or more so, than their own.
In truth, contributions from Africans and the African continent to the shaping of the modern world are enormous and denied only because of the development of Eurocentric and racist views.

Learning about those you hate can sometimes be a stepping stone for understand exactly why you hate. Fear of something greater than you.

"I would HOPE that my legacies would fight for reparations for every hour i was forced to be somewhere where i did not want to be. "

Yeah well the problem is that nobody alive now did that to anybody alive now.

My Grandfather saved a US industry. what do I get for that ?

What's more, my family got here many years after slavery was abolished, so what the fuck do I owe now ?

To people who hate me for something that never happened to them by people who were totally unrelated to me.

Let them try Zimbabwe and find out how well they rule themselves. From breadbastet to basket case in one Mugabe.

What's more, if they were the stronger they would be selling the other tribe to the slave traders.

I say this much, come and get it. I am uncollectable, and live outside the old system dealing only in cash. If they make you pay, you got my condolences. But they do not deserve shit from me and that is what they get.

You want reparations ? Get it from the Monsantos. In fact get it from the families of those who owned slaves. When people made three dollars a month and slaves were u p in the thousands, the commoner did not own slaves. Get that money from those who profited from it is anything.

And speaking of which, a few years ago the social security administration got the right to collect from you if they mistakenly overpaid your ancestors. You think that is right ? You think that is OK ? Why not ?

Well, you are OK now because they said they wouldn't do it anymore, but the law has not been changed and they still have the ability legally. Is that OK ? Charge people for what their ancestors might not have even done ? Like mine. If so, too fucking bad.

You completly missed the point of what I said. I was listing what the blacks who live in America have lost by being here. No way I think they should be put in those conditions. I have no hate for any group, I beleive you need to know an individual before you can hate them. Fear of something greater than me? Because they are black? Sounds racist to me. The slaves were not being bought (they were bought, not captured by Westerners) from advanced protions of Africa so maybe you should get down off that horse and pay attention.

The people those things happened to cannot be paid. The people who did it cannot pay. We were talking about the net effect and the blacks today who live in America are much better off than those still living in Africa on the whole, of course there are exceptions to every rule.

I went to a black collage (95% +) and there they said it was possible but there was no clear proof. And if they did cross the Atlantic they were unable to get back.

Termyn8or -> RE: Unreasonable? (12/30/2015 8:46:29 PM)

Oh, and what now, do Whites get a differnt income tax return than Blacks ?

So much for equality. Funny, like some femeinists, those who claim to seek equality really want preferential treatment.

Typical humans.

The sin of the father is the sin of the son.
It not just about one individual person... It is about what the government has allowed to happen.
I can't go back to my great great great great grand father's Master's family and demand such a thing....
Why? Because my Ancestors where split up and spread wide.
And while they were paper keeping of slave property so far it has not been so detailed that i know my full lineage on my father's side.

Ebony0330 -> RE: Unreasonable? (12/30/2015 9:07:54 PM)

There is no real such thing as equality. Let's be honest... equal is the the same in quantity, size, value, degree. Equality when using it to describe us as humans, race, sex etc... is ONLY to give a false sense of security to those who yearn for it. Look at the statistics who earns more between White Males, White Females, Black Males, Black Females.

Are you also going to go back to whichever part of Africa and demand reparations from the lineage of those who caught and sold your ancestors into slavery?

When slavery ended one branch of my family was still in Germany so it wasn't thier fault.
One branch lived in a free state so they were helping destroy slavery.
The third branch were Sioux, already engaged in the bad side a virtual genocidal war in which Blacks take great pride in having participated.
Any of your linage serve in the 9th or 10th Cavalry? If so you own me.

Termyn8or -> RE: Unreasonable? (12/30/2015 9:20:35 PM)

"There is no real such thing as equality. "

On that much we agree. A Black engineer or scientist is much superior to a White crackhead for one.

Jimmy The Greek got total thrown off the public stage because when asked why he was making a certain bet on a fight he said "because the guy is Black". When prodded he added that they tend to have bigger ass mucles, and I guess as a result could hit harder.

The perception of equality is what got rid of The Greek. the perception is that if one is superior physically, since "we are all the same under the skin" that they must lack intellectually.

Poppycock, there are weak idiots and athletic geniuses.

But that perception is what breeds this racial bullshit. I don't see other countries having a problem with this. I also don't see Catholic schools teaching the 6,000 year old Earth bullshit, but pubic schools in some places have a problem with it. What's more, politicians are not equal to anyone.

I am not, nor will I ever be an egalitarian. But the thing that people do not seem to realize is that I do not judge by race. But I car not what others think of me anymore. Hate me, block me, do whatever you want.Just don't come creeping around here in the middle of the night.
