I am trying to find an old book that was featured on Reading Rainbow (I think) back in the 1980s. Basicly, it involved an elderly lady and a wolf (it may have been a fox), and tward the end of it, the wolf put on this jewled necklace. Right after he did this, the woman took the extra length of the necklace and hitched it to the post saying something along the lines of "There, that will make sure you don't get lost", and she kept him as a pet. They didn't explicitly show the necklace locking around his neck, but I guess it was a sort of trap necklace with a clasp that couldn't be opened by the wearer once it was put on. Unfortunately, even after looking thoroughly through the Reading Rainbow episode guides (which included the titles of the books featured), and doing a Google image search of every book that could possibly be the one I was looking for, it came up empty. It's possible it was another show that had this, but I distinctly remember it being in the format that Reading Rainbow uses during it's read-along segment. Does anybody remember this book? Oh, on a side note, many years ago, I was playing collar games with a friend who was also into bondage, and I padlocked a leather collar and leash around her neck, and said "this is so you don't get lost", and lead her around a bit (usualy I am the one wearing the collar). She really liked it, and this was obviously inspired by the book. :)
