As well they should. In many places, the utility for transmitting power has been separated from the plants supplying power.

How many places?

IF you wish to have access to power at night, or in an emergency, you should be willing to pay your fair share of the infrastructure necessary to support you getting power.

Pay attention dumbass...that is what batteries are for.

Prior to the netmeetering charges, in places like california, hawaii, nevada, the cost of maintinging the trasmission lines was included in the power rate.

half truth...the customer is paying for both the electriity and the line it comes on.

Whole lie...When the role of vendor and customer is revrsed you still want the home producer to pay for the line.

As far as I know there is no obligation to hook up to the powergrid. So you always have the option of not paying those connection/maintenance fees.

I don't pay those fees since I am not connected to the grid. Should the grid come to me I see no advantage in hooking up to it.

How cute - you think "you" refers to you personally.

Of course I think if you want to sell electricity to the grid you show also pay your fair share of the maintenance cost. I don't care which way the power goes - you want a connection, pay your fair share of the costs to have one.

To those of us who speak english it does.

Logic would dictate otherwise. If they sell to me I must pay for both the electricity and the transmission of it. If I sell to them they pay for the electricity and the transmission of it.

Actually you have stated that you do.

So when you eventually take lessons, you will learn that 'you' is used as both singular and plural; as well as third person usage.

Eg:
quote:

You is usually a second person pronoun. In formal written English, the indefinite pronoun one can be used in the third person to refer to an indeterminate person. However, English speakers usually use you.

Example: "One cannot learn English in a day" or "You cannot learn English in a day

New study out published in Nature that says the extreme weather predictions of the IPCC are, in a word, wrong.
What a surprise

https://www.yahoo.com/news/climate-forecasts-may-flawed-says-study-184006557.html

Quoting: Paris (AFP) - Predictions of unprecedented rainfall extremes in the 20th century driven by global warming turned out wrong, a study said Wednesday, casting doubt on methods used to project future trends.

A massive trawl of Northern Hemisphere rainfall data for the last 1,200 years revealed there had been more dramatic wet-dry weather extremes in earlier, cooler centuries before humans set off fossil fuel-driven global warming.

This is problematic, said a study in the journal Nature, as the same data models used to anticipate that global warming would cause record rainfall extremes in the 1900s, are the basis for projections of things to come.

"It might be more difficult than often assumed to project into the future," the study's lead author Fredrik Ljungqvist of Stockholm University told AFP of the findings.

"The truth can be much, much more complicated."

The UN's climate science panel, the consensus authority, contends that dry areas will become ever drier and wet ones wetter as the global temperature rises in response to greenhouse gas emissions.

But the new work said sky-high temperatures in the 20th century did not directly translate into record extremes between wet and dry weather, as many had expected.

From what you're saying, I'm not sure you understand thevphysics or the business of electricity. Regardless, what you're saying isn't true.

Wow, your ignance is showing again. Similar to other threads. I'm calling BS on you again. You don't understand the electricity business or the physics of electricity. You've been googling again. Just enough to get your 12 year old jollies. Too funny.

Chin music because your googling hasn't given you enough information to spout off. You're not familiar enough with the subject to be sure of yourself so instead you just offer up chin music.

This aspect was, actually, the subject of a State of California Supreme Court decision. Which you'll have to go google to see you're wrong. Though, by this time, everyone knows you're mostly wrong and a blow hard. Google is your friend. Go figure out what you don't know that makes your statement here absurd.

Whether a transmission supplier or a generator, what does being subject to the "CPUC" not the puc, have to do with the two being separate. That was the topic. You're obfuscating while you frantically google to figure out why you sound so phoquing stupid. Wherever you post you seem to not know the first thing about the topic, yet not let that bother you. You're so funny. A 12 year old in his mother's basement.

As for..

Why should a utility want to buy your power at $.12 when it can make its own at $.035?

Good article about evolution of natural gas power plants, good conclusions: http://www.forbes.com/sites/judeclemente/2016/04/10/u-s-natural-gas-electricity-efficiency-continues-to-improve/2/#28439f421e73

You were going to tell us which part of that is not under the control of the puc...did you forget?
