Women are more shallow regarding looks

Generally, I find this to be untrue because, just looking around, I often see really good looking women with lesser looking guys.

I don't know if you can ever win a man's heart if he thinks you are ugly. But I think you can win a woman's heart even if she thinks you are ugly.

oh dear nookienotes not short in the looks department herself.

Awww. Thanks.

But, as I mentioned in another thread, I'm not everyone's cup of tea. And I'm cool with that. Not everyone is mine. *smiles*

What I find sad is how people make so many assumptions about people's personalities and character based on looks alone.

Appearances count. Job interviews, got to dress the part, look the part, depending on what you are going for. Just reality of life.

Good looks can also backfire if you meet people who resent good looking people, then immediate hostility can occur too. But I guess with everything, there are always pluses and minuses.

Personally, I think the best place to be in, somewhere, where you look ordinary and don't really stand out as extraordinary beauty, but still generally pleasant to look at. When you're in that zone, there are less problems and you will be more approachable by most people.

I am just thinking of people with elephantitis, really deformed on the face. To say it will easy for them to socialize in public and find friends, is really not a reality in this world. They will have to brave alot to find the ones who can accept them.

OP, are you asking if handsome men have it easier getting into relationships?
Are you asking if handsome men have it easier attracting beautiful women?
Or are you asking if handsome men have it easier in life?

Because no one escapes the sufferings of life. It doesn't matter how good looking you are, how tall you are, how rich you are. Look at all the beautiful and rich people who commit suicide. Or overdose.
The people who have it easier in life are those who have the right attitude, or right outlook.

I had a friend in college who could have been a model. But he was very shy and hated being in the spot light. He hated it with passion when women would approach him or flirt with him.
I had another friend who could have been a model but he hated women - he wasn't gay - he just thought all women where whores.

So even if a handsome man can attract beautiful women, you don't know what's going on inside him. It might be a curse.

Yeah, I was thinking more the assumption that people who are abnormally good-looking are poor lovers... Such a sad assumption. Seems to me that they have just as much chance to want to care about their partners' sexual satisfaction as anyone else.

I tend to agree. However, I think people become beautiful only after you get to know them. When I met my exroomie/boyfriend/FWB I thought he was really nerdy looking and wasn't impressed. The more I knew and adored him, the more gorgeous he became. A decade later, when I think of gorgeous men - he's one of the first that comes to mind.

I think that people are often intimidated by perfection/beauty and so rationalize, justify or project their discomfort onto the individual who intimidates them.

I buy this.
They feel less than and that stirs negative shit.

But I also think we can be attracted by the wrapping, but we fall for the present inside..

I know some girls who are what most people would term pretty plain, but meet them, talk a bit, get to know them and they shine, which makes them very attractive to me.
Same goes for men, though I think it helps to be funny.
Girls like a guy that can make them laugh

This is my second post on here.

My friend, who I go to college with, introduced me to the world of BDSM. He is several years older than me, he is 24.
He is from southern Italy and a very nice looking man.
Plus, he has charisma. I call it bullshit but women love him. They listen to him talk about himself.
He was living with a beautiful woman. 2:00am he would crawl out the window and go to another girl's apt and have sex with her. He would then come back to his place. He eventually got caught but his live in girlfriend forgave him. He eventually broke up with her.

I am so jealous of him! Wherever he goes women turn their heads and look. They will drop everything just to talk with him. When he talks to women it bores the hell out of me but women like it.

What do you think life is like being handsome like that? Getting the attention of women? Having a beautiful girlfriend?
Life must be wonderful?

If being handsome, getting attention from women, and having a beautiful girlfriend are the only required components to having a wonderful life then I suppose your friend has one.

Having to sneak out a window for sex doesn't exactly scream wonderful life.

It's my personal experience in casual sex world. The really textbook good looking ones doesn't even care to make you cum. They work really well with women who doesn't really like sex anyway and it suits them. They love having the eye candy on their arm.

I live in a world, where majority of my married girlfriends hate sex with their husbands even though they love their husband deeply. They just don't enjoy the sex, and they aren't looking for sex anyway, they are happy to simply not have sex ever. No wonder people always say marriage is more than sex.

Perhaps if these good looking people fell inlove, maybe he will care about his life partner's pleasure.

I've always had better sexual pleasure with men with lesser looks. They seem to put in alot more effort and care about your pleasure.

Interesting. That's not been my experience at all. In fact, all of my partners have been pretty damn good. But then, some have told me I have a "picker," because my current Pet has the smallest cock I've ever had at just exactly 6"...

So, perhaps I'm just "smelling" out the good ones or something.

And I always pick for attractiveness to me, but not always traditional good looks, though there have been several of those.

@Wayward5oul

I can see that you're one of the few people who constantly abuse the TOS. The OP asked what it's like to be handsome and he is receiving replies. He is not asking, "Would women please criticize handsome men?" As usual, you ignore what the OP is asking, not just on this post, but on others, and giving unwanted replies.

The "price to pay" to post in the forums is you, and your colleagues who abuse the TOS. The benefits are the honest replies and emails we receive.

Actually, Wayward's post wasn't against TOS.

OP, are you asking if handsome men have it easier getting into relationships?
Are you asking if handsome men have it easier attracting beautiful women?
Or are you asking if handsome men have it easier in life?

These are great questions.

* Do handsome men find it easier to get into relationships? - Typically, yes. It also makes it harder to maintain a relationship for a number of reasons.

* Is it easier for a handsome man to attract a beautiful woman? Typically, yes. However, that doesn't ensure anything beyond an initial attraction.

* Do handsome men have it easier in life? They typically will gain more opportunities, but that doesn't ensure happiness. It actually makes inter-personal relationships harder, and that's for the guys that have healthy out looks on life. Add narcissism, being self centered (hot guy/girl syndrome) and ego - It ends up being almost impossible to maintain a relationship.

As the quote says, "No matter how beautiful s/he is, someone, somewhere is tried of putting up with their shit."

At one point I was dating a male model - and I found him delightfully refreshing. He used to joke that he was making all the money he could, because eventually he'd be "over the hill". He was one of truly centered people that I met in that realm. He had looks and the personality to back them up.

But, as a typical example, we'd be in Laguna Beach hitting the clubs and galleries - he'd go to the bathroom and it would take him forever because of the women that would step into his path. We used to make bets before we went out.

While we weren't destined to be a couple - we're still friends to this day.

I know men like this. They tend to be tall, in good shape, and have the innate ability to recognize what someone wants to hear and the moral ... 'flexibility' ... to say that.

Similarly there are women like that too.

Smart people see through their bull right away, but it is always easy to find someone stupid and pretty to fall for them.

More importantly, they never learn skills necessary to maintain a relationship. It works fine when they are young, stops working from around 35-60, then it starts working well again on women over 60.

I imagine it's truly terrible to have unlimited picks of women ( or men), getting picked for the job because you look better in a suit, or people finding you interesting just to look at you
I cry because it is so sad.
