For those of you in its path, good luck.

We've been downgraded and it now appears to be coastal only.

booklover13 -> RE: Winter Storm Jonas (1/21/2016 11:33:15 AM)

Not my turn to work Saturday so not worried. I'll be snug and warm in my apartment with lots of hot cocoa. I'll dig out of the 2 feet of snow on Sunday.

LadyPact -> RE: Winter Storm Jonas (1/21/2016 11:41:41 AM)

Yep, we are. I'm pretty much considering us in the hunker down state. Already did the grocery run in case things get bad.

OsideGirl -> RE: Winter Storm Jonas (1/21/2016 12:23:23 PM)

The airlines have all issued waivers and set up a pre-emptive "fuck it, you re-issue it" system.

NookieNotes -> RE: Winter Storm Jonas (1/21/2016 2:12:13 PM)

Yeah. I have a busy weekend. Looks like I won't get my hike in, though.

LadyPact -> RE: Winter Storm Jonas (1/21/2016 7:50:12 PM)

Update.

Winter Storm Jonas has been upgraded to a blizzard warning in some areas. Please be careful.

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Winter Storm Jonas (1/21/2016 8:58:14 PM)

I echo Lady P's sentiments. Be doubly careful...........we are just the opposite here. 35 celcius forecast tomorrow with possible storms and wouldn't you know it ? This is the day we have chosen to have our garage sale !!!!

Bummer, isn't that always the way!

I'm as prepared as I can be, just hoping the electricity stays on, love cuddling down and watching old movies, popcorn and all! If it's lights out I've pulled out a few books I can indulge in.

CynthiaWVirginia -> RE: Winter Storm Jonas (1/21/2016 10:38:34 PM)

We already had 6-8 inches outside my house, and my Yahoo news for my area told me we're getting another inch tonight (it's Thursday, after midnight when I'm writing this) and then 10-12 inches on Friday.

We just got back from risking a trip to Walmart because we've been out of milk and fresh veggies for more than a week (outside was icy and I didn't want to risk a slip and fall trying to get off of my hill). My son had to put up with me using him for balance as I took one inch steps, sideways, in the snow covered grass at the side of our walk way (all down hill). He'd salted the path earlier but...the salt was acting like marbles under my feet, even with my big "waffle stomper" boots on, lol.

I'd better get ready for a possible power outage by charging up my old gaming systems. With eight cats in the house I'd rather see by gaming system light than risking carrying lit candles everywhere.

I'll have to find the lantern type candle holder that might be in the upstairs closet. It's surrounded by glass, the top has a vent, and one of the sides has a door to open and shut...when I hang it from somewhere it's cat proof. We have blankets enough for 3 or 4 families, lol.

Good luck and stay safe everyone, see you on the other side,

Since I work from home, on my laptop, Snowmaggedon 2016 is not yet actually affecting my work day.

That said, I am taking a "snow day" for at least part of the day and playing a bit. This is a drawing I've had in my mind for a while, based on the Crucifixion of the Nookie: https://fetlife.com/users/50648/pictures/43031071 I'm greatly stylizing this, and adding in a lot of detail. I've put in a background, and working on details now, but taking a break.

OsideGirl -> RE: Winter Storm Jonas (1/22/2016 9:40:58 AM)

They're in the process of closing down Philadelphia Airport. Getting as many flights as possible off the ground to clear the airport. Other airports haven't said anything.

Remember, even if you're not going to/through the Mid-Atlantic gateways - your flight may still be affected.

littlewonder -> RE: Winter Storm Jonas (1/22/2016 10:17:53 AM)

We're already hunkered down here. We have all we need...food, water, heat....movies and booze [8D]

Tomorrow night we'll probably walk to a local bar/restaurant though that all the locals go to when storms hit. They stay open no matter what. It's always fun to see all the locals walking out and about and just having fun without all the cars and tourists around. It's kind of a local tradition.

LadyPact -> RE: Winter Storm Jonas (1/22/2016 10:23:19 AM)

This one is weird but I'm going to post it, anyway. All three of the major kink clubs in this area have officially pulled all scheduled events for Friday and Saturday. If you were planning on attending this weekend at any of the venues, they are closed. I can't say anything about events in DC. I'd suggest checking to see if they are going to remain open.

WickedsDesire -> RE: Winter Storm Jonas (1/22/2016 10:56:09 AM)

We had ours last week. Two incher; measured it myself with the full length of my man junk. Most in 4-5 years now <200 metres, Indeed, I am ready to declare winter all but over we have a silly climate I will not bore thee with the specifies. Summers seem to be getting colder and winters milder.

About 4-6 inches can bring our country to its knees, or half a dozen snowflakes for the land south of our wall…I am not kidding.

Panic buy, and stock up on plenty of fluid. I always recommend 40 bottles of Chardonnay and any loose change on cider chasers. Well we all know snow cannot be drunk as its a solid - therefore it can be ate like food.

Be safe.

But is that reliable? Surely, there was shrinkage involved that possibly skewed the results?

Good luck everyone! That's a whole lot of white stuff. Hope no power outages.

Can't speak for WV, but we're doing fine. Plenty of food in the house, keeping warm, and just riding it out safe and secure.
