The claim that the only thing facing Assange should he return to Sweden is questioning doesn't hold water. Assange has many times offered to submit to questioning in the UK, or in his current abode in the Ecuadorian Embassy in the UK. The Swedish prosecutor, who role in this entire affair is looking increasingly partisan and questionable has declined to question Assange under this arrangement. Obviously there is something more than a mere questioning over dodgy allegations going on here.
Assange holds very real fears of extradition to the US where his case is currently being investigated by a grand jury. One need only look at the sentence handed down to Chelsea Manning, who provided the classified information that Assange distributed to understand Assange's reluctance to place himself and his liberty at risk by travelling to Sweden and making himself vulnerable to extradition to the US.
It's time the UK and Swedish authorities stopped doing the US's dirty work and allow Assange to walk free.
Bullshit Tweakable........ Assange is wanted for questioning about a serious crime, under UK extradition law we are obligated to return him to Sweden and Sweden are obligated to question him on the issue.
