Kinda like the nazi who runs that third world shithole singapore where about a third of the people live below the poverty level.

Yea, below poverty line in Singapore means, not having air-conditioning at home, maybe not being able to afford the latest Iphone. Yup. that's pretty bad.

Once again you show your ignorance of that third world shithole called singapore. Do you just open your mouth to change feet?

We're already bankrupt. What's your solution, genius?

My soution is quite simple. Stop electing fools by putting "none of the above" on the ballot.

If you were not so ignorant you would know that there are many millions of businesspeople who do not steal from their investors.[/quote]
Yea and where are these business people. Why haven't any of them step up and sacrificed and took a huge pay cut to run for President? Because they only care about growing their own money and not interested in helping their country.

Because you are unacquainted of any ethicle business people you choose to support an unethicle one?

the poverty line in Singapore would be someone who earns less than S$1,500 every month.

Thompson, because you are completely ignorant about Singapore.

I earned 1500 when I first started working, was living under my own roof. Despite that pathetic salary, I managed to own my own roof, never starve, and live pretty comfortably, all basic necessities taken care of.

Currently because I have fully paid for my own roof. I am able to survive on a merely 12,000 per annum, if I am frugal and still eat and live very well and save the rest of my money.

Below poverty is earning below $1500, which is exactly why, in Singapore , below poverty line means being unable to afford the latest Iphone. That's what it means here.

To use that as something to insult our country is ridiculous.

Whereas in the US, below poverty line means, having not enough food to eat everyday and not having a roof.

I cannot imagine anybody in Singapore genuinely not having a roof in Singapore. While we have old people that sleep outdoors. Many do it because they can't afford air conditioning in their homes and find it more cooling to sleep outdoors. I mean air conditioners gotta be a luxury even in the US.

In business sense, when you bankrupt a small part of your company, to save the larger part of your company, it means you are terminating minimised jobs. It's just good business decision.

You are the one spinning it was unethical. I see nothing unethical about it.

Yet you tell us that you are a millionaire...how did that happen on 1500 a month?

Currently because I have fully paid for my own roof. I am able to survive on a merely 12,000 per annum, if I am frugal and still eat and live very well and save the rest of my money.

Yet you brag about owning a car and traveling to europe and amerika. Oh yes you mentioned that you suck at math.[8|]

That is not what the link says. The link says you are peddling shit.

To use that as something to insult our country is ridiculous.

The only one who is capable of insuting that third world shithole is singapore. It shows us daily what a ridiculous and fatuous country it is...that is the insult. That you would boast 17% millionaires while nearly a third of the people go hungry.

Whereas in the US, below poverty line means, having not enough food to eat everyday and not having a roof.

Which according to the link is the same definition for that third world shithole singapore.

I cannot imagine anybody in Singapore genuinely not having a roof in Singapore.

Based on the plethora of bullshit you have posted I have no doubt your imagination is capabe of that simple task.

While we have old people that sleep outdoors. Many do it because they can't afford air conditioning in their homes and find it more cooling to sleep outdoors.

So they are not homeless they just prefer to live without homes?[8|] You say the funniest shit.

I mean air conditioners gotta be a luxury even in the US.

Good grief that is just about the most stupid thing you have ever posted.

Yea, I bought my car when the COE was $2. I got it for 24k. Which was a steal. I am never extravagant, I know how to be patient and wait for the right time. I waited for housing prices to collapse, to get my home too. I always get things at the right time. As with every economy, there are always highs and lows.

It's not that expensive to travel. When I travel, I always have friends overseas to take care of me, lodgings and driving me around. I always only needed air tickets. Like I got a round trip ticket to LA for only $800bux. That's cheap and I can easily save up for that.

Recently there was a story of a man who travelled from Finland to Singapore on just $3000 total expense through pure hitchhiking all the way, navigating so many countries and it took 4 months. End of the day, especially these days, there are many ways to travel and pay very little.

And on top of that, sorry to say this but I am a woman. My last Europe trip was my fuck buddy missing me and flying me to him while his on business there. But he was suppose to be back in Singapore but last minute work got in the way and he got sexually frustrated and just frustrated that he could not be back in Singapore. So I guess we get these extra perks too thanks to men willing to get you to him just for sexual company, and his my best sex in the world, so I didn't care about the traveling, I'd prefer him to be here, but I'd grab any opportunity to have sex with him. Yea I didn't pay for it, although I did pay for my own trip to the US, because I just wanted to catch my favourite band over there.

Except the article is written by Roy Nygen, a failed opposition candidate who hates the CPF system and main mission in life is to incite enough Singaporeans to protest against CPF and get rid of it. Clearly majority of Singaporean disagrees with him and love the CPF, and he barely got any votes. And his bitter.

Also, many self-employed people earning hundreds of thousands does not have to contribute to CPF at all, or are allowed to contribute their own selective amount. If he goes solely by contribution for his figures. I wonder how many self-employed are in this category. I am a self-employed, and so are my most of my colleagues. There are like 5000 people in my company alone who makes more than 3k per mth and does not contribute to CPF or contribute pathetic sums because of self-employed status. So I question the accuracy of his calculations. People who don't earn salaries but earn commissions only are considered self-employed. The benefit of that is, we don't have to contribute the 20% of our salary to the CPF. If want to only give 1%, we could, it's 100% our choice when it's self-employed, so if those figures include self-employed contribution, then it's super inaccurate, as most self-employed people go on self-employment status to avoid paying the 20%.

quote:

That you would boast 17% millionaires while nearly a third of the people go hungry.

It's so impossible to go Hungry in Singapore, even if you have no money, we have buddhist temples serving buffet meals, free food, all day. And if you were poor, you can get food for as cheap at 1.50 too or cheaper or if you live on rice and eggs, when I was earning 1500, I never ate out and lived on rice, egg and vegetables, I ate healthy, and ate well and stretched my money. Like roasted chicken and rice. As with every area, there are the expensive food areas, and cheap food areas. Anyway, all Singaporeans know where all the cheap food is.
quote:

Because old people used to live in large open air Kampongs in their younger days, and are not used to living in one room and one hall enclosed flats. But due to our lack of space, all the Kampongs had to go in place of skyscrapers to cater for enough roof for everybody.

you two remind me of a couple of animals we have in this country................the dingo and the wombat. The dingo goes after the wombat and harries and pesters it to try and find a weak spot to go in for the kill. The wombat just turns his thick-skinned (almost armour-plated) ass to the dingo and let's him get on with it. There IS no weak spot and hence no solution to this fight except for both to go their own ways and try again another day maybe *smile*.

I think the problem is, he came from wealth. And his real estate firm was inherited by his dad. So people discredit his achievements.

But arguably, you can come from wealth, but it still takes capability to maintain or grow that wealth.

There has been many rich kids who went bankrupt and never able to recover, after taking over their family empires as well.

It's always a better story to see a rags to riches person rise up, than a rich to richer person rise up. But you know what? The PM that built Singapore, came from wealth too. He definitely was from a wealthy family, who could afford to send him to England for studies. Which pounds are crazily like more than SG dollars back then. Some spoilt rich kids, can make history and actually do a great job.

I think Trump did a pretty good job with his businesses over all.

It is comical that he managed to bankrupt a casino, but everyone has to fall from grace sometimes to get better. If everything keeps going smoothly, how will he ever learn? It's the results after the fall that is more important to look at.

Yea, 8 failures in 70 years, is a very tiny amount of failures. Especially when it comes to running business!

You know how many failures Microsoft and Apple makes? The big greats? They keeping going up and down. To stay in business longevity wise, it's all about overcoming failures.

Dvr22999874 -> RE: why do people vote for donald trump (3/2/2016 10:46:09 PM)

NINE failures greta..........you forgot his failure as a human being and in him, that is a BIG failing if he aspires to be POTUS

Personally, while his behaviour is not Presidential. But looking at all the candidates available, I don't believe any of them are capable of fixing the debt. Except maybe Kasich, but among everybody, Kasich is probably the most Presidential, and seemingly most stately, controlled and mature among them all, but that doesn't get votes.

How can he be a piss poor business man if his richer than when he started?

Perhaps by going bankrupt three times and phoquing his creditors.

And if Trump had 0 failures in his business and has no track record of rising higher and higher from each failure, then I will be worried as his first failure could be America.

But his gone from super debt from the mortgage crisis to now, billions in surplus. That man knows how to get out of debt.

So it would appear that you would like to see the usa go bankrupt.

And this is what America needs!

In the opinion of those who hate amerika.

It already is....as are most first world countries, and has been since the mid 80's.

Why do you feel that someone who has been bankrupt 3 times would be the right choice for ceo of the largest corporation in the world?

Because, when he fell down....he got back up.

That is what is called a euphimism for stealing the money of his creditors.

And all was done within the constraints of existing American corporate tax law.

So do you want the mop to take the usa chapter 7 or chater 11?

It won't be done that way Thompson....it'll be done by ZIRP or inflation, which is theft by another name.

Thompson -- The U.S.A. is already 19 trillion dollars in debt. If Trump can do something to lower that number, I'm all for it.

His standard game plan seems to be bankruptsy. Is that what you are up for?

No one is "up for it".....but that is what's going to occur.

Now there's a brilliant move. Elect no one at all to steer the ship. Just let it drift along the horizon and wait for the seagulls to eat our flesh eventually.

Damn bud, you were born with an IQ of 9 billion.

Thompson for Prez.
