I've always used the honorific of Domina.

To be honest, I thought that 'Domme' was contrived from online chat.. kind of like text speak if you will.
I've never taken it seriously nor used it and mentally put it in the same category as... irregardless.

I don't mean my post to be offensive in any way please.

I've always preferred 'domina', too. I don't know why it's not more popular. Maybe it's considered a bit pretentious, or something.

It's lovely as a term. When spoken by someone who speaks Latin, it flows off the tongue in elegant fashion.

That's not too far off but not exactly text speak as it was just a way to differentiate females from males. I usually just use the generic term dominant.

I would have thought it's pronounced the same as Dom but I heard a video greeting where the Domme pronounced it with two syllables.

I use 11 syllables....but that's just me.

Considering it's a made up word, I don't pronounce it since I don't use it. People that do use it; automatically render themselves lacking in credibility. Such as using an adjective to depict a noun. Women/men are not dominants (or any other flavor). They may be dominant women or dominant men but they are not dominants.

FFS, basic grammatical skills people. Being kinky doesn't mean you get to rewrite the rules of language usage. (/rant).
