Status: offline 		• This website is the slowest lifestyle website on the Internet.
• The Management and owners know this but do not care.
• Easy enough to get into the message boards on most occasions.
• Difficult to get into the profiles.
• When one can it is difficult, if not impossible, to send anyone a Message.
• The message boards are populated by prejudiced bigots and so attract socks.
• Very few of the profiles in existence on this website are genuine.
• The vast majority are from various types of criminal fraudsters.
• There is also a high proportion of people who have personality disorders.
• Many sites have flamers, socks, prejudiced bigots, bullies and fraudsters.
• No other lifestyle website runs so slow free or not.
• This website as also seen more than its share of staff and moderator fraudsters.
• I do not give a tinkers curse what the message board bullies and regulars think.
• Facts are facts and speak for themselves.

I have no problems at all accessing the site.
I might have to wait half a second - but many sites are worse.
I have no problems sending messages either.

You must have a crap system or crap internet provider - or both.

As for socks?? You are one!
So why should anyone listen to what you have to say?
You go on hide like the rest of them.

Don't like it? Ask for a refund and go elsewhere.
I'm happy with it.

Status: offline 		Since it's in your original, OP, please explain to me why the people creating and posting via sock puppet accounts never want to be accountable for their own behavior? It's always, "other people acted like X, so that's the so-called justified reason for the lack of integrity."

If you want to keep going with the reason is "bullying," you've already lost because you, by definition, are admitting that you are going for other people having greater influence over you, than you. Frankly, that definition doesn't work, either because no one has threatened you with violence, given you a reason to be afraid in your real life world, forced you to suffer a negative effect, or any other form of trauma. If I'm incorrect about that, please feel free to explain said trauma, and I'll be happy to listen.

I'll give you that the profile side has had it's ups and downs lately. They are either working on something that is causing delays or they are only doing minimal maintenance and it's the same result. I don't use this site to date, so it doesn't bug me nearly as much as it seems to bother other people. I use Fet as my primary kink mail, so when this one doesn't work, it doesn't matter much to me.

If you really think it's the worst, there are other options. Why not be on one that makes you happy?

The troublemaker writing long message alleging total nonsense is a obvious example of the inferior calibre of most though not all of the people who frequent this the worse lifestyle website on the internet bar none.

Status: offline 		Lately it's been a little slow but I am thinking it is as much my provider as it is the site and as likely, even the browser in use. As for your other problems, you aren't the first to raise the issue and one must keep in mind...it's a free site and will draw anybody.

Then there are the likes of crumpets who uses ridiculous amounts of paranoid security and seems to hiccup and fail at almost every attempt to use to the site.

I'm thousands of miles away on a measly 10Mb ADSL line and I do great on CS and most other sites.
I'm sharing my connection with up to 14 other machines and phones online via the router and yet I barely ever get a hiccup of more than half a second - and that's while I'm also streaming the BBC news from their website.
Most times, I can barely blink and the site has fully responded.
I rarely get all these problems that others (mainly in the US) are apparently suffering.

As for sock OP, if they don't like the site - why are they here at all??

There for a good time, a huge chunk of CM/CS users were American and Canadian. That shifted a bit when IC (Informed Consent) shut down and we got more folks from the UK, but still large majority, North American. We've always had a few from other geographic locations, but dang near all of the other places combined seem to come in at a total of less than ten percent.

The US alone covers four separate time zones, so no matter what you do with site reliability, it stands to reason that between morning people and night people, it's going to hit some folks in the US.

That's why I asked so many questions about TOR/TBB. I wanted to compare connectivity to Mozilla. I'm one of the least predictable folks about what **time** I use the site. I can be up at 3:00 AM in my time zone as likely as I will 3:00 PM. (Heck, get me in a good candle making run and I'll be up for days, with huge periods of wait time while wax is doing one thing or another.) So, I wanted to see. Depending on your habits, you may be less likely to see them unless it's a site wide down time. If it's scheduled maintenance, the logical thing is to do it during the least amount of user activity. Unscheduled? Just happens when it happens.

Status: offline 		Anyone using the site on a regular basis understand that there's some serious technical issues here. Every other website that I go to can I get there quickly and easily. I guess you get what you pay for.

Who can say? Aside from the people who complain about it in the forums, we have no visibility into the actual number of people who have problems with the site. If you assume that most of the users here are from the US, it stands to reason that we would experience the greater number of problems with the site just from a statistics standpoint. Whether that pans out in reality is anybody's guess.

LOL. Didn't. Based part of my answer on it.

Two AM in Alaska for me used to be six AM on the East Coast. I'd literally watch forum participation contingent got to bed and the other ones 'wake up'. I've actually go a pretty good grip on when three quarters of you guys usually go to bed, get up, etc. Weird thing just from forum observation.

However, I'm sure it works in reverse. Some time zones will see me post 'late' and just know I'm jazzed from being out playing. (Meaning I'm up at three or four.) Weird trivia stuff.

I'm usually alive and on site before 10am UK time and rarely leave it for at least 12-14 hours.
I sit here all day, most days, watching the scroller and browsing the fresh meat (yeah, I know, I'm a sad old git).
I refresh the page about once every 4-5 minutes all the while I'm online, skim my messages avery hour or so or when I'm bored watching the scroller.
I'm often awake at stupid o'clock all thru the night around 90-100 minutes apart for a pee and I frequently refresh the page and do emails.

It's not often that I'm away from the site for more than an hour or so any day 24/7/365 unless I'm actually doing something else away from my machine (and that isn't very often).
I've seen site drop-outs during the past 18 months to 2 years and I can count them on one hand in that time.

I've only just finished rebuilding my PC so I've been absent since last friday (5 days in all).
I really really don't see all these connection and browser issues that people are posting about.

It connects virtually every time, instantly.
The only times it doesn't is when someone else is doing a big download or running fast torrents.
Even then, a refresh usually works first time.
I don't notice any slow-downs or hiccups or stuff not working that's always worked before.
I manage my profile and account from the links on the left of the message board and they've never failed - not even once.

So.... I use the site regularly, 12+ hours most days solidly and sporadically during the night so my browsing is at all sorts of hours 24/7; I can count bad hiccups and drop-outs on one hand in 2 years.
The biggest one was obviously when the whole site had a meltdown and became CS and the other time I couldn't post was when I was on the naughty step for 3 months - but I could still use the profile side and send/receive cmails with no problems at all.

For those interested -
  • I use Mozilla Firefox and always do an update check at least once a day.
  • I use Qihu 360 total security, windows defender, malware bytes Pro and malware bytes anti-exploit.
  • Tor really screws my browsing so I don't use it.
  • I sometimes use IE11 just for the sheer hell of it - because I can.
  • I don't use a VPN unless I want to get somewhere that's blocked.
  • I never ever go wireless.
    Sometimes I'm on a 32-bit system, sometimes a 64-bit system; I see no difference.

    OK. Mozilla. I'm with you. (Remember, I'm slow.)

    Now, we both know that forums and personals side is two different things. The connectivity to the forums? OK most of the time. You and I should both be seeing activity gaps that have nothing to do with the site. People just aren't posting and if you are on as much as you say, I'm sure you've seen this for yourself.

    The personals side? I'm sketchy because I don't use it as much as a lot of people do. If I've got the option, I'll contact people on Fet much more often than not. At least 90% of my kink mail is Fet access.

    But yes, I've noticed it has been very quiet of late.
    I put that down to the myriad of socks that plagued the site and we still have a few obnoxious ones out there.

    For the personals side, I just use the links on the left side to edit my profile or have a page that shows new meat, a separate tab for cmails etc. I also check who's viewing me, browse photos, look at friends etc.
    I don't think I've ever clicked the Message Boards button - I just watch the scroller and open a new tab with whatever caught my interest at the time.
    Sometimes at night I'll have a cig then try to sleep for an hour or so until my bladder wakes me up again or once in a while I'll get embroiled in a slanging match somewhere. Most times I'll refresh the new meat page and watch the scroller for a few minutes then trundle off to bed again - until the next time.

    I always stay logged in and get to the site with the normal collarspace.com link I have saved.
    It takes me where I can see the world go by.

    Status: offline     		I greatly dislike the socks, but it's not just the socks. Original content sucks, too. A lot of factors contribute to a snowball effect. Can't blame that on a few snowflakes.

    We should compare notes on this, sometime. I know I get to interact with folks from the UK a lot. Since being here, I've been in EST, PST, and what they call AKDST, which is four hours behind.

    Unless they were actively involved in P&R somewhere, most people just didn't bother visiting the site for a long while.
    Even the flow of new meat really slowed down a lot.
    There weren't many good posts going on elsewhere because the socks just derailed the threads into oblivion.
    People were rapidly losing heart to make any sensible threads.

    Then, of course, you get crumpets and his lack of understanding women and he makes a load of posts with shedloads of useless and irrelevant diagrams that confuse the fuck out of everyone and tries to explain human nature/behaviour in terms of mathematical formulas and such.
    WTF?? That man needs some serious therapy.
    At times he's behaving no better than the trolls and socks.
    Just because he doesn't understand stuff, he thinks the rest of the human race doesn't either.
    He really hasn't a clue when it comes to humanity and societal behavior.
    He actually doesn't know too much about the technical stuff he spews with his cut/paste posts.
    He's the sort of person that I'd call knowing just enough to be actually dangerous for other people.

    I think I said he'd make a good salesman or politician - only spouting the good stuff and leaving out all the pitfalls that people really need to know about.
    But he dismisses all that because he just wants to sell his PoV with such enthusiasm that he actually believes everything he reads and regurgitates onto the forums.
    Anyone else would say "there's one born every minute". lol.

    People seeing that sort of irrelevant crap, with the socks and trolls, doesn't make a good or inviting forum to be on or to participate in.
    I think it'll pick up when the turds are flushed away and some of the old die-hards get back on the scene.
