ORIGINAL: Cinnamongirl67 (I am an American. Will any of you bravely stand with me?) Thank you. Hello Cinnamongirl. Nice Neil Young song, that was. No wonder you chose it. As an American, I have obtained for myself a BA in international economics, and have much life experience with many people from many countries. Black people, of course (room mates in past, coworkers, supervisors, etc., because of being in the South, not like in the North, where the second whitest thing is snow), and also a seeming flood of Chinese students, and more than a few Hindus (a mile down the road) and otherwhats from India, Madagascar, etc. Some noticeably lesser few from S. America, Honduras, whatever, in other neighborhoods nearby. More than 2-3 miles away, there's lots more of whatever. (My neighborhood is a nightmare to Donald Trump, almost as much as his hair is a nightmare to all the rest of us.) But for the time being, America is run by those of the "Protestant Ethic" religions, or ideologies, however you choose to name it. The Protestants had to come up with a way to outdo the Jews in Medieval Europe, but don't quote me on that, even though I've taken a lot of classes in history, too. The "Protestant *Ethic*" is all about how much you can take from others that you can get away with, while giving the least you can get away with in return (hence all the off-shore accounts, e.g.) There are still many in "America" and in the UK who say their holy prayers with this mantra in the morning. Not to mention other countries' corporations in Asia an S. America, etc. As it stands, the US of America has exported financial distress to other countries (not to mention much economic destruction, domestically), and have increased the recruitment of terrorists and domestic turmoil in the Middle East and essentially everywhere else by way of a game-planned invasion of same. Which comes back home soon enough, as we see. "Ax" the chickens as they roost. But I have no issue being born in the US, none whatsoever. None. I'm not a fuckwit warpig Protestant, for one thing. Talk about blessings. So then, in my efforts to obtain an education, and use my born-with ("congenital," as they say) sense of dealing with whatever reality I am surrounded with, avoiding whatever ideological elements or 'tools' academia has made so much effort to impose upon me ... As one American to another, and for many other Americans who are pursuing many different things, I ask; will you stand with me bravely? Will you bravely stand with -us-?
