But Ted Cruz is coming in a close second.

quote:

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) said following Tuesday's terrorist attacks in Brussels that law enforcement should "secure" Muslim neighborhoods, a comment that drew swift criticism.

"We need to empower law enforcement to patrol and secure Muslim neighborhoods before they become radicalized," Cruz said in a statement issued after the attacks, which killed at least 32 people and wounded dozens.

Cruz spokeswoman Alice Stewart later said there needs to be a robust law enforcement presence in American neighborhoods where many Muslims live.

Ted Cruz calls for law enforcement to ‘patrol and secure’ Muslim neighborhoods

How in the hell does this moron figure to prevent a crime before anyone has actually thought of committing a crime?

How are you going to 'secure' a neighborhood, short of armed patrols on every street every freaking minute of the day.

Hello police state, here we come.

One of the local radio hosts has a promo where he says, "1984 was a novel, not an instruction manual." Guess Cruz doesn't understand that point.

The GOP is going to lose more and more members if this is what they believe. And, imo, if it is what the GOP believes, they can't lose enough members fast enough.

Yanno, the whole point of having security in a building or on a property is to deter criminals from committing a crime... Same with police patrols.

I don't see how increasing police patrols in potentially troublesome areas is a bad thing... But then I tend to side with law and ORDER.

mnottertail -> RE: Im used to Trump being an idiot... (3/22/2016 2:51:51 PM)

so long as cops are implementing law and order and not killing people and beating them and terrorizing them as they are wont to do.

1) there is no way to figure out who is going to be radicalized
2) increasing police activity in a predominately Muslim neighborhood to the point where it could be considered preventative becomes oppressive.
3) you cannot predict a crime except in sci fi movies, i.e minority report.

But that is not what cruz demands now is it? What he said was

"We need to empower law enforcement to patrol and secure Muslim neighborhoods before they become radicalized,"

How about the cops "patrol and secure" your house? Would that be kewel for you?[8|]

But then I tend to side with law and ORDER.

What mall cop is not?[8|]

Actually there is, but the politically correct left pussies in this country would whine too much.

The FBI could easily infiltrate Mosque's in this country, the way they infiltrated the Clan in the 50's and 60's. But someone might tell CAIR, so nothing is being done surveillance wise to stop attacks in the planning stage.

It is not surprising that the fbi has not chosen to confide with mall cops about infiltration of subversive groups.

Speaking from your preconceived notions in absence of facts again.

When the correct notion is - of course there is.

From 30 years of experience in France, in the netherlands, and even in Minnesota they have key indicators for who are likely to become radicalized.
People that are unemployed.
People that withdraw from mainstream activities they once enjoyed.
People that frequent muslim mosques and engage in Quranic studies.

Etc. The fact that don't list them all doesn't mean we don't have pretty good profiles for the people susceiptible to radicalization.

They actually used to do that. Stopped by our idiot president after protests from Cair.

The fact that we made no priority to stop radicalization 20 years ago does't mean the techniques don't exist or have no value.
But I'm ok with ignoring them. I'm in the camp don't let em in the country in the first place.

The FBI I read somewhere I forget, was all over the pertinent mosque in Sacramento (5000 members) before the attack there. The FBI wanted to close it and the courts wouldn't let them. There is more...HERE

I do. It would enable ISIS and others, plus indigenous Muslim fundis, to bolster their claim that the West is fundamentally anti-Muslim. It also runs the risk of majorly pissing off exactly the people who'd be first to notice when somebody looks like he's on the way to being radicalised. First rule of law and order - don't employ a policing strategy that creates more crims than it's meant to prevent.

Mall cops may well be acquainted with the location of donut shops but universially lack any knowledge of policing strategies.

Would you also be good with submitting to unwarranted checks and balances from the police on your life? Like arbitrary stops on your way home from work to search the car for fertilizer and such, or maybe unplanned knocks on the doors to go through your home and belongings on your property? What if they just say no one can leave home unless they have a work pass and only for those hours?

I find Americans are great at deciding what to impose on others, but tend to cry and whine about "freedom" if they are subject to the exact same treatment.

no---ted cruz is not talking about a "police state"---in fact, he's talking in broad strokes about muslim areas where police cant/don't operate to the extent they do in other areas. something akin to or identical with the "no go" zones that the left gets into an absolutely tizzy over when mentioned.

he's also asking in part, how could a muslim terrorist be hanging out in a muslim community for months at a time and no one comes forward with information.

mnottertail -> RE: Im used to Trump being an idiot... (3/23/2016 1:39:36 PM)

There are no places in the US where that happens. Cops will throw down on you for having a heart attack or selling loose cigarettes. They dont give a fuck.

Cruz like all nutsuckers is not only an uniformed idiot, he is a felcher of nusucker cretinisms.

Look, nutsuckers guarding our porous borders invited Ebola into the US. We aint going to let these fucking nutsucker losers run this country.

Lets all face it, when it comes to stupid, get you a nutsucker, is Cruz running for president of Belgium?
