The dungeon is a lightly moderated forum. The others have more stringent rules of etiquette.

This one is pretty easy: Being derogatory or insulting toward sexual disposition is a form of discrimination based on a human psychological/sexual orientation...similar to race. It is bigotry and reflects badly on the commentator.

However, slamming conservatives and liberals so-called, is a comment or judgment and insults based on what is most predominantly ones political beliefs which is fair game.

Ad hominem also, is a general term short for argumentum ad hominem, which offers a logical fallacy in which an argument is rebutted by attacking the character, motive, or other attribute of the correspondent. I am thinking this is used way too often as far too many want to go right after those aspects felt...about a source. These kinds of attacks are meaningless.

I never insult (I'll use words/descriptors of a poster used in a comment toward me...against them) or do I go after a messenger. If anything, when I debate and research, I learn.

Actually with his experiences I would expect he was talking about the North Veitnamese, and, with his experiences, with good reason.
