Your country's modern day founder was Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles of the East India Company, like some other places in Asia (by the EIC). I didn't say the US had anything directly to do with modern Singapore, I merely alluded to the fact that the US and UK were the primary parties divvying up the foreign spoils (territories, colonies, etc.) after both world wars.
But while on the subject, what country was responsible for the Japanese having to abandon your country in '45? Was the president of the US at that time anything like Donald Trump? Your country as exists today wouldn't be here if Trump were president back then. He'd be too busy making deals with the Japs over casinos that go broke in five years. Your good education system wouldn't be here at all, except for the very few who could afford it. Trump wouldn't allow the law against chewing gum in public; he would own the company and have gaudy adverts all over the place promoting it, especially in the subways. You would never have had a national healthcare system. Trump would own a chain of retirement homes there, staffed by untrained non-Muslim foreigners working for $10 a day, and still not run the thing properly enough to pay the electric bill or fix the plumbing or make the loan payments.

You have no idea what an inept idiot Trump is when it comes to his laughable attempts to do anything of practical value. The fact that you promote him strictly on 'merit' of spouting one idiocy after another (which is any thinking person's description of what you fondly refer to as being 'not politically correct') explains volumes as to why your country needed to be bailed out several times by outsiders (wouldn't exist in the first place but for them, actually), if your countrymen think anything like you. Bernie Sanders, if he had dictatorial powers, would have this country much closer to how things are in Singapore and about thirty other OECD countries regarding healthcare and education. You know nothing about how things actually work (or not), all you care about is being entertained.
This isn't a freaking game show or "reality show," deary. It's real life, and a tiny country like yours might survive four years of constant turmoil (done that several times already, actually), but in any case the damage would be limited to the island. Having that bad cartoon character as prez of the largest economy and most powerful army in the world would spread the damage far and wide. Whatever damage the US has done to itself and spread to other lands already in the last thirty years or so would be amplified at least 10 times if that idiot with 'congenital bad toupee disease' ever got hold of the wheel.
